Pioneer Head Unit

OK, disabled everything with the word car I could find. Found out I can't turn off car dock without root, so that's not possible for me. Wife had car most of the day yesterday running errands, doctor, etc. Going today to pioneer dealer and we are going to try other usb cords and see if maybe there is a magic one that might work.

Thanks for all of your help, it is appreciated. I will keep you posted if any progress.

Not sure why you having an issue..
There is honestly no tricks to it..
Goes like this.
Radio smartphone setting to "others"
Plug phone into USB 2.

Phone will download android auto automatically..and start the Android Auto.

SUCCESS!!!!

Wife's OEM cable with developer options turned on, usb debugging on, buffer size for logging set to 16 MB (Don't know if this did anything, but someone on another thread suggested it so I went with it), usb configuration set to mtp and we are rocking and rolling!

Thanks to everyone who tried to help. This truely is a great community.

Hi Dave! I have a Pioneer AVH-A5150BT and cannot get to play Spotify using using USB. I already did developer options and tried almost all settings on the Pioneer.

Hey Francis, I don't use Spotify and have never tried it with the Android Auto. Maybe someone else here will be able to assist you. Haven't had any problems with AA since I was able to finally get it working. Have you tried searching on Android Auto and Spotify here on Android Central? Just a suggestion. Good luck.
