Anyone know if beta program participation affects timeliness of official 8.1 ota availability?

Normally, you have to wait for the official release... That is what happend to me on the BETA 8 release. You can't sideload it.... The only option to get it now is to un-enroll in the beta and then wipe the phone and wait for Google to OTA you the updated file.... In my case (when I was on last years BETA of 8) I waited.... after a few weeks, I got the OTA and it installed without wiping. If you go this route, un-enroll after you get the proper OTA. If you don't, you won't get the monthly updates.
According to what I'm reading we are exiting Beta so everyone should be getting it.
You are..... But if you are enrolled in the BETA, you normally are the last to get the OTA of the official.... You either wait for the official 8.1 OTA or un-enroll to get the update which wipes the phone. You can't sideload the official 8.1 over the DP2.
Isn't the 8.1 DP2 pretty much the same as the stable release? Any thing in this release that DP2 doesn't have?
Stability hopefully for any issues that were identified.
I have some very minor Android Auto connection issues that I can work around in Developer mode but I want to make sure it's the Beta and not the phone. I'm hoping to download it soon.Yeah, I can't decide whether to wait a few weeks for the OTA to get the beta's to stable 8.1, or un-enroll, wipe, and side load stable 8.1. Grrrr
I'm thinking this was a false alarm today ....Google delayed for some reason
Shouldn't this board show it ? ThanksNa -- remember it goes out in batches.

Didn't I read somewhere that Google recently changed to enable you to request updates by checking for it in android settings instead of having to wait for roll outs? seems like mashing the check for update button still doesn't help. Anyone know more?
