This is so true. Walk up to any normal person in a mall and ask them what their next phone will be, and they will likely say "the new iPhone" or "the next Galaxy phone" as they call it

I like the smaller bezels too but I don't think anyone is building nor plans to build a 16/9 5.7 inch flat screened phone with small bezels. Looks like there soon won't be any 16/9 flagships and that breaks my heart since I love watching tv on my phone. There will be some smaller cheaper models but not the quality nor size I like.

The comment about the keyboard taking up less space only applies if you type in portrait mode. I type in landscape mode.

Internet browsing involves reading. In portrait mode it's pretty narrow. Website better be optimized for it. In landscape you don't see as many lines but you can read all the way across.

Reviews are not objective if they receive any incentive to write them, like free phones. Often the focus on beauty which by it's very nature cannot be objectively measured.

Even if the majority of buyers never view YouTube nor Netflix many users do so our complaints about choosing between black bars or stretched distortion are legitimate.

Curved edges are easier to hold but also easier to accidentally activate functions on the curves and harder to cover with glass screen protectors. Many argue they are more prone to shattering when dropped.

I would never make an absolute statement that 16/9 is better. It is better for me because I am a video watcher. Obviously not better for you. To absolutely say either is definitively better is simply not true.

Notice I don't argue anybody is absolutely wrong nor absolutely right. I am explaining what I like and why.

J/K some interesting points, almost all of these things are subjective, you're exactly right. dsignori made a good point about the word best being too easily applied to both objective and subjective things. I agree. If we speak to what we prefer or what's our favorite, easier to avoid confusion.

People are pretty ignorant about bezels. They're obviously designed to provide space for Post-It notes.

Design awards are not given out based on scientific study of objectively superior designs nor are they a consensus of a majority of the market. They're the opinions of super nerds that are obsessed with tech.

Man, ain't that the truth. JD Power awards, what a joke. Having worked at Fortune 50 companies at a level high enough for strategic initiatives I saw first hand what a scam awards are. If you saw the money transferred and the "conforming" companies did to get these things you'd just pay no attention anymore. I don't give them one bit of thought anymore and no award ever changed my opinion of a product I owned for better or worse, they're just non-relevant and a marketing tool to generate sales.

Edge displays definitely don't work well yet. Not sure if they ever will have any purpose that will make it worth the hassle.
