Pixel 2 display defect?

If it only appears on the Home screen and not in your app drawer or on your Feed screen or any other application screen then I doubt it's a hardware problem.
What happens if you use a different Launcher?

I've tried Nova launcher it's still there for me.

Not experiencing any abnormal issues with my Pixel 2. Currently on April SPecurity Patch.

Actually wierdly the patch fixed lock screen "black blob issue" but not the status icons "gray banding".

Huh. I checked just for fun and it looks like I have an update that isn't installed. And it's not installing. It's stuck at Step 2 of 2. Good times. lol
So did you get another replacement?

The April update was slow...real slow

No not yet I'm requesting for a replacement Thursday since I didn't have enough funds for a hold for the replacement device.

Well I give up turns out to be the same maybe my eyes aren't used to Google's calibrations of AMOLED displays.

I think the the Samsung S9 has a similar issue.

Well I did something lately and I downloaded Nova launcher and behold the top with black wallpaper no light bleed there. I think is the Pixel launcher affecting it or something.
