Can you post a screenshot of what you are seeing right now?

I hate to say this but my husband's Pixel 2XL touchscreen died a few weeks ago. It wouldn't register any touches and he couldn't insert his pin. We did have it insured and when it was sent off for repair the touchscreen had completely failed and it required a replacement phone. What you are suffering from sounds similar to what happened to him. If you really can't get it to work with all the suggestions then I fear your touchscreen has also failed and it would require a replacement phone. Sorry.

Do you still have everything that came with the phone in the box? If so, look for the USB-A to USB-C adapter (see the image here: https://www.amazon.com/Official-Ada...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU6783656), and use that with a basic USB mouse. Now see if you can navigate around. If so, then at least you can adjust some settings and and/or start backing data up. I agree with Kirstein Gourlay and Morty2264 -- it sounds like the touchscreen has failed, so I doubt anything you do in the settings will help.

I had a static screen problem on my old Galaxy S5. My problem was that one of the 4 battery terminals wasn't quite touching the battery. I got in there with a sharp implement and yanked on the terminal to bring it out a little more, so it would fully contact the battery. Bingo. Fixed it.

That's the S5. It can't happen with the Pixel 2 (the battery plugs in) and you can't get to the battery without disassembling the phone.

I think my pixel 2 is dead, or dying. I have had it since launch. It is currently giving me the static screen, I can tap it and bring it to awake, but then it wont let me input my pin ( WHEN i try to hit the buttons I need nothing happens) I have tried to reboot it using power but that didnt work either.

Any tips or suggestions on how to get it working? I really dont want to get a new phone right now but fear that may be my only option at this point.

Bad connection on the back of the screen. Try putting pressure on the front of the screen, the left side about an inch from the top. May not be a permanent fix, but could get it working again.
