Evening all, I ordered the above from my local Best Buy as they had the best dpp around. Comes with the Daydream View free which I didn't realize at the time but nice extra

I ordered it on Monday, March 26th and now today Monday, April 9th two weeks to the day of the original order I got an email that it's been delayed

I know the original Pixel had manufacturing issues and I assumed they fixed it, as my local Verizon corporate store has them in stock. Best Buy said "we only get 1 or 2 every so often" and "they continue to be in high demand". Two weeks sounds a lot for a phone that's been out for months now

Emailed their Store & District managers to see what the hold up is, but has anyone else experienced this issue with Google products at Best Buy

Been using a Droid Maxx when on wifi for email, Google Voice text, etc but not having phone calling capabilities is a pain not only for personal but work now

Was hoping for an idea of what others have had to deal with

Best Buy is not the greatest when it comes to delivery or information on delivery. It could show up soon but you may not know till the day it gets there.

same thing happened to me...I actually made a post about it. long story short, I cancelled my order and just bought it the next day at a Verizon store. not worth the nonsense waiting and lack of updates for the extra $100 off

A friend used to work at the same BB location and didn't mention any of this back then. Had no idea they had issues like this, or just didn't think of it as big a deal if it weren't something I needed right away

Haven't heard from anyone at BB directly but if they don't answer today (Tuesday) or can't give me a straight answer as to when it's expected I'll be doing the same thing

That location and Verizon Corp store are literally across the street at a mall near me. So if needed I can get the phone and SIM

Originally I was looking at a phone like the Moto Z2 Force which isn't too bad, but I take a lot of pictures. Want an everyday use phone for whatever I need

I mean, I held onto the LG G3 model through multiple replacements whenever the screen flicker/dimmer bug popped up so I plan on using this until I really see something new I like and worthwhile

The only difference is that the VZW one has a locked bootloader.

You can't buy the Google Protect warranty unless you buy it through Google.
If you buy from Verizon you should still be able to get warranty service from Google.
The only difference might be that if you buy from Google you can get a replacement first if there's a problem and then return the unit later as as opposed to sending yours in first and waiting for a replacement. This requires a hold put on a credit card.
Of course if you went through Verizon they can send you a replacement first but it's usually a refurbished unit.
Google often replaces defective unit with a brand new one but I don't know how long into the warranty they do that.

Lack of updates? Sometimes the Verizon pixels get updates before the straight from Google ones lol.
