Pixel 2XL not recognizing headphone dongle

Are you sure you have the headphones fully plugged into the dongle (until it clicks)? If it doesn't detect the headphones correctly it'll still play from the speakers.

Had a similar issue with my Google Pixel 2, worked with support and they sent me a replacement phone.

Anyone managed to solve this issue without hardware replacement? I've tried restarting, reset, and I'm on 8.1, Pixel 2. It is stopped working suddenly this morning.

Do you know anyone with a pixel or HTC that you could try their dongle so you can determine if it's the phone or the dongle?

Unfortunately no. So I guess my options are 1, find a dongle, 2. Return the phone

Where did you buy it?

This is a bit tricky. I'm in Malaysia where we buy Pixels from phone companies that import these phones as Pixels aren't distributed locally by authorised party. So we'll have to deal with them who in turn deal with Google and it'll probably take another 3-4 weeks?
