Pixel 3/3 XL-Share your photo(s) here!

The absolute greatest phone for these kinds of shots. Indoors, low light, flailing limbs and arms. Shot in HDR+, it froze a moment and captured it absolutely perfectly. You can't tell these two were in the middle of an action, and that's not an easy thing to do is less than perfect conditions. No smudging, no blurring, no problems...not like a certain other 108mp camera I own...

P.S. 99.9% of my shots upload sideways. What's up with that? How do I fix it?

Great shot!

I've found this to be an odd bug as well, and I'm not sure if it's a Chrome thing, an Android thing, or something else. How are you accessing the forums -- using one of the forum apps, or Chrome? I mostly encounter this when I download a portrait orientation photo from my Google Photos to my Chromebook's local storage. The photo is right side up in Google Photos and looks right side up in my Chromebook's file manager, but I notice that in the download notification, it's sideways. If I edit the photo in the file manager, it initially shows up as right side up (but will still post as sideways) -- but if I rotate it 4 times and then save it, it'll post correctly. So if your process is similar to mine, try that.

Thanks! And I will try that. I always just upload directly from my phone using the chrome browser...or the Samsung browser. Both browsers do the same thing to the photos.

Sorry, I can't get over this. MID-STRIDE, NO BLUR. What?!

Thanks for the work-around, B.Diddy.

No blur! Amazing! Cute kid too!

Thanks! She's the perfect subject to demonstrate why this camera is THE BEST...for me in my situation.

Here's a perfect example. Same shot, same everything, two different results. I love how the 3XL didn't blur the phone she's holding. It's little things like that that just impress me so much. Point. Shoot. Content.

Aaaaaaand, we're back up sideways shots.

I definitely know what you mean. I'm a preschool teacher and taking pictures of kids for displays and such - well, let's just say I need to take multiple shots using the work camera. 🤣 So when a phone camera has subjects or objects the subjects are holding that are not blurry, then I am impressed. Especially when children are involved. Little Energizer Bunnies!

2nd grade teacher right here. Working in Mountain View, CA, I'm always surprised at how many of my student's parents, who work in tech, are always so surprised with the pictures I take and send home. I don't know whether or not to fully geek out and tell them, "it's all because of my GCam Arnova apk on the Note 9," or just tell say "thank you".

LOOL I definitely see your point. It is indeed a little sad that parents who work in tech don't know how to get clear shots like that! At least I have an excuse now!

I wish I could pull out my S10 or Pixel 2 to snap shots but our work policies are complicated on that. They'd come out SO much clearer though. How many beautiful moments and opportunities I've missed because the work camera was too laggy or the shot was blurry!

You're right about breaking out a personal device to take pictures of kids. Just typing that felt slimy. Working in the Silicon Valley, we get some pretty decent tech thrown into our classrooms, even when we don't want it. I wonder if I can classroom expense a Pixel 4a for the reasons of "capturing classroom events and moments to share with parents"? Hmmmmmm

In order to not derail, here's a shot appreciate for the natural bokeh. Shot in regular photo mode, not portrait. God I love this camera.

Yeah, it's definitely a gray area. Wouldn't feel good about it. But I love you idea of getting a work phone to capture shots!

What an adorable picture! I miss hanging out with the kids in my class.

That's quite the platter and quite a platter of steaks. Mmmmm, good. I love brussel sprouts. I'm too lazy to grill veggies. Actually, I'm too lazy to grill, period. And then fight off the yellow jackets.

She is very cute.

Here's from today's bike ride. I thought to myself "everyone's a bank robber now!"

This is the other face of Discovery Park (formerly Fort Lawton). Rainier in the background over the marina.
