Pixel 3 / 3 XL - Shipping Discussion

I'm a Google Fi Subscriber and I live in the Atlanta, GA area. To qualify for the special $799 Fi account credit, I ordered, in separate transactions, two Pixel 3 XL 128 Just Black phones. The order was made about two hours after the keynote finished on Oct 9th. The phones were not financed and I paid full price for both with my VISA card.

Both Pixel 3 128's were shipped from Chicago and delivered by FedEx about noon on release day, Oct 18th.

Both Pixel 3 XL 128's are absolutely identical and Kate and I have been 100% pleased with them.

He did it again today but I was prepared for it. I buzzed him in and he never came into the building. This time I was able to run downstairs real quick.

I had called customer service on him any from his demeanor it sounded like someone had talked to him about it already. He apologized, but then why didn't he enter the building today?

Whatever, I got my stuff and I'm setting it all up right now. Replying from the 3xl. So far so good!
Phone, charger and home hub were supposed to come today so I skipped planned activities to wait on them.

The guy came to the apartment, I buzzed him in twice but he never came to my front door.

He left and change the delivery date to tomorrow and didn't leave a door tag.

I'm on a delivery emotional roller coaster! A new email every afternoon since ordering, moving it up a week, moving it back a week. I don't know what to believe anymore. Only good thing is at least I haven't been charged anything.
Fi order, new service, just black 128, 3 XL

And now another email and another delay. Two emails sent by me this time, one to FI and to Store. I doubt anything will come of it but, it's nice to vent.

Just to confirm, do you want to know about the status of the shipment?
Josh7:17 AM
Well, to be honest I’m a little frustrated...I’ve seen other people order several days after I did and it only took a few days for them to get their phones.
Imtiyaz7:19 AM
I understand your situation at this point, Josh.
Imtiyaz7:19 AM
Let me explain you about this.
Imtiyaz7:21 AM
The delivery depends on the stock availability in the nearest facility and the location where you stay.
Imtiyaz7:22 AM
I can see that your estimated delivery date is Nov 9, 2018 - Nov 10, 2018. You would be notified if it got postponed. At this moment, we are unable to guarantee the final delivery date. However I can ensure that the team is working hard to ship all orders within the planned delivery period. Thanks for your understanding.

So should there be a big difference between ordering the 9th and 10th? A neighbor ordered the 9th and received it on the 18th.
Imtiyaz7:25 AM
The date that you see is just an estimated date. However, you can receive the device before that as well.
Imtiyaz7:25 AM
We are working on it, as I have already mentioned we will try our best to deliver it as soon as possible.
Imtiyaz7:25 AM
My intention is to provide the correct information.
Imtiyaz7:26 AM
If there is anything that is with in my boundaries, I'd be the most happiest person to help you with. As that is the reason I am here and its not just my job but I take it as my responsibility. I hope you understand the situation this is about the stock availability.

Add me to the Pixel 3 Shipping Date Roller Coaster...

Pixel 3 XL128 GB Just Black
Ordered October 16 at 10:58 PM
Ordered via Google store and selected the Project Fi phone option

At time of check out the delivery date was 10/23-10/24 (by today).

After completing my order and receiving an email confirmation, clicking the tracking info showed it moved to October 30-31.

Then six days later on October 22, I received an email that the shipping date was moved to November 6-7.

So it we went from a stated delivery date of October 23-24 at checkout, to two weeks later.

Interesting... Looking here and in reddit, I'm noticing several changes to the November 6-7 date.

Bought the P3 128 White on Tuesday, 10/23. Notified that it will be delivered on Friday, 10/26. It originally stated next week from the Google website. Seems they are shipping out phones quicker. Bought the P XL a couple of years ago and had to wait about 6 weeks for delivery.

My Pixel 3 (64gb White) was ordered on Oct 9 has Delivered by Nov 13-14 still has not shipped yet.
So just for kicks I tried putting in another order today for the exact same phone. Standard shipping has a delivery of Oct 31-Nov 1!!! What gives? (expidited has delivery of Oct 26-29)
Anyone make sense of this?!?

Spent 30 minutes on the chat with google the other night, they assured me the phones were being sent in a first come first serve basis. After getting frustrated that my Oct 9th preorder hadn't shipped yet I decided to do a little experiment and order another phone.

Original Order - Oct 9th, 64GB, White, Fi - Still pending current delivery date is Nov 8-9
Order Last Night (10/23 around 4PM CST) - 64GB, White, Unlocked - Shipped this morning delivery date of tomorrow.

So glad i preordered....

Thanks for posting this. I ordered the exact same phone on the exact same day (along with a pink 64GB 3) and I got a December date that has not changed yet. I think I'll use this information in my daily email to support.

My daily discussion with customer support today

-When I ordered it was Nov 14-15. Then it was changed to Oct 24-25 in the google store and I received an email confirming that. Then I received an email that it was changed back to Nov 14-15 but the google store said it was going to ship Oct 26-29. Then I recieved another email that it was going to be Nov 14-15 and the google store estimate said that as well. Now again the google store says Oct 29-30

It looks like this issue can be best handled by a specialist. What I’m going to do is transfer this chat to the specialist and I’ll make sure to provide them with all the information we’ve discussed so they can pick up where we left off.

So glad i preordered....

Prompted by this, I went back to support chat yet again and even got them to escalate me to a supposed supervisor. I completely forgot to ask for an email transcript, sorry. I pointedly asked that if I placed a new order, and that order had a closer estimated delivery date than my old order, if I could expect to receive the new order first. They said yes. So after explaining that this completely contradicted the last answer I had received, I canceled my old order and placed a new one.

My original order October 9 order for two 64GB Pixel 3's in white and pink was estimated for December 7-8. My new orders (placed separately this time): 64GB Pink Pixel 3 is November 16-19, 128GB (decided to upgrade) White Pixel 3 is October 31-November 1. Now I'll wait to see if these new dates turn out to be true.

The supposed supervisor seemed to focus a lot on the original estimated delivery date I received. It feels like maybe they're hoping people with late estimates will just wait so they can fulfill new orders, though that might be giving them too much credit. It's probably just a huge mess that they're solving by the seat of their pants.

There must have been a huge demand after all the pre-orders. There were even some people who ordered after the pre-order time line who got their phones delivered. Wish you all the best of luck and I hope you get your phones soon.

Ordered a Pixel 3. Fedex won't leave my phone at my house unless someone is there. They won't tell me what time to expect it. They won't hold it at a facility for me to pick it up. They won't let me sign a signature release to leave it. They won't let me use delivery manager to reroute it. If they don't have someone there after 3 attempts they will send it back to google fi. I've contacted google fi to see if they can change the shipping requirements they said no, all pixel devices are shipped this way. I told them that the day before I had a Pixel 3XL delivered without these restrictions. They don't know what to say about that. I guess i'm returning my 3XL and will never be able to get the 3.

Ordered my P3 128 on Tues 23rd. Google said I would receive between 29th and 30th. Then came back and stated it shipped. Receiving mine tomorrow 26th.

That's odd. Kate and I are on Google Fi and we ordered two identical Pixel 3 XL 128's. There were no signatures required at delivery. They were ordered on Oct 9th and delivered at my door by FedEx on Oct 18th. There was no knock at the door and no ringing my door bell. I just happened to open the door to go out on my front deck and there were the two boxes sitting right in front of my door.

I get why they don't want to just leave a very expensive device at your door, but I'm surprised they won't let you use Delivery Manager to send it to a local FedEx Office. I've done that several times for expensive items or when I knew it'd be raining and I wouldn't be home. So you can track the package within Delivery Manager and it simply won't let you change the delivery? That is a strange thing for Google Store to prevent, considering how likely it is that people will want to avoid porch pirates for such an expensive package.

Usually it is left up to the driver, at least the leave it at the door thing. Unless they have had a lot of thefts lately. They should be willing to hold for pickup... I would try and talk to the depot manager and see if you can get any help.

Ordered Oct 9th - White Pixel 3 - 64GB in the NJ/NY area. Got shipment delivery date Oct 23-24th initially. Then got pushed to Nov 9th-10th around the 18th. Canceled the order this afternoon around 1pm today. Reordered again with standard shipping. Just got shipment notification at 5pm today with delivery October 29th or 30th. Seriously, why did I have to do this to get my phone to ship? I think i saw someone write that it may have to do with google store financing approval throwing things out of whack? Who knows

I ordered two Pixel 3's through Project Fi. I ordered in the afternoon on the first day for pre-orders, which I think was 10/9. My ship date is not until Dec. 5th! What's up with that? Anyone else seeing these take so long?
