Pixel 3 / 3 XL - Shipping Discussion

I am in the same boat. My estimated ship date is changed from November 2 to November 28. Have you paid full price for the phones or opted for monthly payments? I opted for monthly payment may be that is the reason they are delaying my order.

I'm in Canada so the phones don't release till Nov 1. Had an expected date on my white 3 xl 64GB of Nov 4-5 but got an email today saying its been pushed to 14-15. :/

Mine was supposed to be delivered Oct 30-31. Just checked again and it just says it's been delayed and they will let me know when they have more info. I paid full pop up front. Got the charging stand and case a week ago. So...kinda bummed.

Totally screwed by Google. Ordered P3 128 on Tues. Was to receive today. Around 3PM today I noticed a delivery exception on tracking. Driver stated nobody was home. Someone was at home the entire day. Went to FedEx hub to try to retrieve. They stated they couldn't do anything. Called FedEX 800#. We discovered that they tried to deliver to an address I haven't lived at for 6 months. Got home called Google. Asked them to change the delivery address. They stated they could not. They will have to wait for Fedex to try 3 delivery attempts, then ensure that it is en transit back to them. At that point they will cancel the order. I will have to wait a few days for the cancellation to move through the bank and only then can I reorder the phone. I should point out I'm using Gstore financing. Bummer! The reason for the wrong address? They stated they shipped to profile in my pay.google.com website. I needed to update/delete my addresses in there. Went to the site and I had addresses in there from the last 10 years or so.

I ordered two Pixel 3's through Project Fi. I ordered in the afternoon on the first day for pre-orders, which I think was 10/9. My ship date is not until Dec. 5th! What's up with that? Anyone else seeing these take so long?

I ordered two Pixel 3's the night of 10/9 and got December 7-8 estimated delivery. I canceled that order and placed a new order on 10/25. I got a shipping confirmation for one of the phones a few hours later - it's on its way, scheduled for delivery on Tuesday. The other device is estimated to arrive around the middle of November.

The one thing I did differently from my original order was that I placed two separate orders (I was told that as long as I used the same email address for both orders, I'd still be eligible for the $799 credit promo). I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it.

Either way, based on my experience and that of several others I've seen, the way to go for old preorders with late estimates is to cancel and place a new order.

I get why they don't want to just leave a very expensive device at your door, but I'm surprised they won't let you use Delivery Manager to send it to a local FedEx Office. I've done that several times for expensive items or when I knew it'd be raining and I wouldn't be home. So you can track the package within Delivery Manager and it simply won't let you change the delivery? That is a strange thing for Google Store to prevent, considering how likely it is that people will want to avoid porch pirates for such an expensive package.

It's so odd. It will not let me do anything with delivery manager. Project Fin team is not helpful at all. They won't call FedEx or do anything to help me get the package.

Re: Order a Pixel 3 / 3 XL? Is it shipping / card charged / etc? Sound off here!

I placed the pre-order for the pixel 3xl not pink online on bestbuy on 10/11 because they gave $100 e-credit for online purchase. Two weeks later still in progress. Have contacted them but they don't have an answer to when they will be getting more to ship out. If I had not ordered the not pink color and gone with the black or white I think I might have had the phone by now if not for my wife wanting the not pink color.

Ok so I finally moved to Pixels coming from Moto Z3. Should get the 3XL tomorrow...

working from home today and awaiting delivery of my replacement 3xl.
First one had a sim card issue and led me to a week of nightmarish communication with google.
Hopefully everything will be perfect now and I can start to enjoy my new toy.
Getting rid of my 2xl as a trade in and already have 3 cases waiting to be used on the new device.

Rickles: I'm in the same boat, ordered day of announcement and received the Pixel 3XL on 10/18/2018 with a damaged SIM card tray. Ordered a replacement on 10/19/2018 with a delivered by date of 10/24- 10/25. 3 calls to Google support and no once can find or tell me the status of my order. As of now it is still showing delivered by 10/24-10-25. Every year I have had some issue or another with the order process. How long did it take you to get your replacement?

Unfortunately that would take away your $50 credit for pre-ordering. I hate waiting, but I suppose I will wait another week or so. If they push my date back again, I'm just going to skip the Pixel 3 altogether.

My story is too long for this thread but the whole first part is exactly the same as your version, including all the dates.
What I did after going a little crazy with them was cancel that 2nd order on the 24th when they couldn't give me any info. I then ordered another (3rd) device and I'll have it within the hour.
This created a little mess because I did that on my own and they wanted restocking fee and didn't want 2 give me promotion ($50) but I got to somebody who helped me get everything I deserved plus an extra $50 so I'll have $100 total. It was a crazy experience and I would recommend you asking for a supervisor to help you more than the reps can. The guy who ultimately helped me was Von. He didn't get me the extra 50, that was someone else, but he arranged everything else.
Good luck with everything.

I've requested a supervisor every time and I have been told none are available. It blows my mind that a company the size of Google can't get a simple fulfillment issue resolved from back in the Nexus days to present day Pixels.

Maybe it'll be a small consolation to you that you aren't alone. I am now in the middle of this same issue. My excitement over the device shipping the same day I ordered (after cancelling my reveal-day preorder) quickly changed to disappointment when I saw I couldn't use Delivery Manager to send it to a FedEx Office.

It's simple: Google puts a restriction on the delivery so the package has to be directly signed for at the delivery address. That's the only option. They won't even leave a door tag when delivery fails because you can't go to the shipping center to get it. Same as you, support was unhelpful. They kept making it sound like it was the fault of FedEx that it couldn't be changed, no matter how many times I explained that FedEx would be happy to let me have it held once Google removes the restriction.

I understand and appreciate that they want to make sure your phone lands in your hands, but the restriction is overkill and makes it super inconvenient for people who work during business hours (most people). Having the package held at a FedEx Office location is perfect. You get the convenience of longer business hours (my local one is 24/7), but you still get security since they require an ID to pick up the package. Fi could also warn people about this restriction at checkout so you can choose an address where you know people will be home.

FedEx has had its own hiccups: I signed up for text alerts but received none, even after the delivery failed. FedEx support got my email address and claimed I'll get several alerts, including when the driver is in my zip code. That might give me enough time to drive home from work. We'll see.

One day I'll actually get to use this phone. Maybe.
