Mine has been stuck in, “Shipping label has been created. The status will be updated when shipment begins to travel.” Since yesterday morning, and my delivery date is supposed to be today..

Do you think the fact that phones are shipping earlier than originally estimated means that Google has had less demand for these phones than anticipated?

Yes. This and the fact that we've been seeing leaks of complete phones for weeks makes me think that the warehouse has been stocked pretty good ahead of the launch as well.

I think it's that and Google had a better handle on orders this year. I think the majority of cell phone users don't even know about the Pixel 3 yet. Most of the people ordering are fans of the pure Android environment. To be honest, I could get AT LEAST another year out of my Pixel 2XL if I wanted to! The PEOPLE isn't a huge step up so a lot of people I think are waiting.

I feel like I am the only one whose delivery date did not improve. I placed my preorder during the keynote and had an estimated delivery date of 19-20. now the device shipped yesterday and had an updated delivery date of 20-23. right now Fedex say 20 but we will see.
Ordered from google store 10/13. P3 black 128gb original deliver date Oct 25-26. Shipped last night and should be delivered by the 19th.
Finally got shipping notification on my 128 regular black P3 ordered 10/10. Was originally scheduled for 10 24/25 and will now be here tomorrow. Looks like they're doing it right this year. Also will be getting a $50 store credit that I'll apply towards the stand.

From a marketing perspective quoting a date in the future to hype demand could actually be very costly in terms of lost sales.

Same here, no expedited shipping but appears to be arriving tomorrow via FedEx ground.
Ordered the 64gb Black Pixel 3 from Google about an hour after the keynote. Was originally supposed to ship on Friday, but got the shipping notification last night.

Nope, I ordered (Clearly White 3XL 128GB) around 1:30pm the day of the keynote, and even originally had a delivery date of Oct 24-25. But it shipped yesterday morning out of Carol Stream, IL and I should have it tomorrow in MD.Did everyone but me do expedited shipping?? LOL
