Pixel 3 or iPhone XS.

One thing I hate about IOS is how every iPhone looks exactly the same. I want my phone to be a customized, individualized experience different from all the other phones out there. Impossible on iOS.

I agree with this, was annoyed by this moving over to iOS 2 years ago...but honestly after a week, the trade-offs of how iPhone does things better than Android (imo) made customization annoyance disappear. I actually had a harder time dealing with no heptic feedback when typing...so glad i have this back coming to Pixel 3!

I don't like how photos remain in camera roll even after I transfer photos to new albums. This means I will have to scroll through all the photos to to find all the pet photos (for example).

No, you don't have to scroll through all of them. That's why you just created a pets folder, isn't it?
And no, Photos aren't stored twice in the iPhone, just because you put them in an album.

Lol I hate haptic feedback. First thing I turn off on all my devices. I don't need a buzzing on my finger to tell me I just typed something or pressed something.

Although the phone tries to be intelligent, not all photos are going to be automatically placed in the albums I created. sometimes it won't recognized a photo as scenery or flowers or food. So I have to manually scroll through the "All Photos" folder and then transfer to the designated album. Also, if it doesn't store twice why is the same photo in the "All Photos" folder as well as the album I named food or selfie or whatever?

So just to be clear you're describing the Live Albums feature of Google Photos right? Place automatically recognized things/people into a folder?

No this is apples stock photo album but yes it's supposed to auto recognize photos and place them in albums

i can concur while Apples photo system sometimes works, it doesnt do a good job always. Like i will type "halloween" and only 40% of my photos get put in...i mean many are almost identical and half dont get selected

There is free software available to do this with iPhones, without using iTunes.

But it won't be as nice as Android file management.

I just use spotlight search (swipe down) and type the first letter of the app and it shows up. Pretty quick and have been used to do this for many years now and honestly don't even know or care about where the apps are. Do the same with Android. Both on Android and iOS i just have the first page with my frequently used apps and anything else is by a simple search using gestures.

For the life of me I can not get used to using that. Even with Android phones I never used it. Probably have to wire my brain to do it.

And I miss haptic feedback on the keyboard. i really wish iPhone would let you do that because their haptics are the best of any phone I have ever tried.

Yeah it's just what you are used to, for me any launcher on any phone I need a way to search apps (like search bar in Pixel launcher dock, swipe down or whatever gesture to bring up app search on Nova, spotlight search on iOS).

It's just I have been used to it for long time now to open apps like that and never worry about where they are in the app drawer or in home screens if no app drawer. I just have a few favorite apps on my first screen other than that where apps reside doesn't matter to me.

Everyone does their own thing and use what works best for them

Moving to iOS, this was a biggest negative for me...coming back to Android made me realize after so long how much i do love it. Still not sure why iOS doesnt allow it (not even with Swiftkey)

I need a file manager, torrent app, Bluetooth data transfer, and want less proprietary equipment.

I also use a Call Blacklist Pro app to block all calls except the ones on my contacts or I whitelisted. I tried finding a comparable app on iOS and there isn't one or I need to jailbreak it. Unknown numbers can't be blocked. And why is the video in a different format with iOS? I prefer mp4. I have to convert them to mp4 just to move them on my Androids.

I also can't stand iTunes. Is it still 2005? I'm Team Pixel/Android for life. I've used iOS for a decade and never had an urged to use it as a daily driver since 2013.
