Pixel 3 owners: what's your next phone?

Yeah, honestly that's one of the main reasons why I'm hanging on to my Pixel 5 for now. I'm grandfathered into unlimited photo storage at high quality resolution until I upgrade to a new Pixel phone. A lot of people have that oh how many pictures could you possibly have, or Google one storage isn't that expensive etc etc etc. It's not the point the principle of the matter is the fact that Google is taking away unlimited photo storage at high quality resolution for people if you upgrade to the new phone. I don't want to lose my limited photo storage at least not yet.
I am keeping my 3xl active forever to hold onto the storage. Still have my P5 even though I ordered a P6 as well. As long as you keep the 3xl active and don't get rid of it you can keep getting a new phone.

I'm also upgrading to a 6/6 Pro, not sure which one yet, but I'll be keeping my 3XL as a backup... it's a great phone :D

So just out of curiosity, do you mean keeping an active sim in your 3XL, or just keeping it connected to your Google account? I still have my pixel 1 connected to my account, but no active sim in it.

AFAIK, just keeping it connected to my account. My active sim is in my current phone. I still keep it enrolled in betas as well and update for releases.

I am gonna wait for a while and see the performance of the device. if any major issue pops up or if there is anything new with the chip and then I will make a decision about upgrading

Re: Nexus 6!

How about now? Are you still using the Nexus 6? If so, still with the original battery?

Yep yep, I totally agree. Upgraded from beta5 Android 12 to the stable release yesterday, so far my pixel 5 it's awesome! No complaints here whatsoever! Other than the at a glance widget not opening up the calendar app, that's about it.

Encountered this problem with at a glance as well, though I managed to find a workaround.

If you don't mind your at a glance not displaying the weather, you can disable that and you should be able to open the calendar. Worked on my Pixel 3.

The problem and behavior of AT A GLANCE is really mystifying, to me at least
The settings gear lists all the options available for AT A GLANCE. Why you have to choose between WEATHER OR CALENDER, is beyond understanding.
My workaround was to keep WEATHER and move the Calendar Icon to the top of my Home Page.
It adds to the clutter, but it works for me.
I'm hoping that the update that is promised in the 1st Q 2022,has the fix.

yeah, that much is true. At a glance widget is still only working for the weather widget for some reason. Google really does need to fix that, that’s for sure.

Ordered a Pixel 6 128GB in Stormy Black, received it on 11/3.

Hopefully, I'll see a lot of familiar faces from here in the 6/6 Pro forums. :)

Pixel 4xl. Very happy so far with overall performance and battery life is better than expected. The Pixel 6 looks like a good deal but not a fan of the design and in screen fingerprint reader.

Well my pixel 3XL replacement ended up being a Samsung Z Flip 3  I know, like you guys I bleed pixel... but the Black Friday pricing was irresistible, and I'm tired of carrying a big phone in my pocket to get the big screen. I haven't opened it up yet, was debating returning it to wait for the pixel 6's to become more readily available, but I'm going to give it a shot :p

Honestly I'm probably still going to pick up a pixel 6/6Pro down the road ;) I'm a bit addicted to the things :D

Funny thing happened to my 3XL. After 2 years of broke sensors, Android 12 restored all my sensors to working. So I now have back auto-rotate screen, compass, all camera functions including panorama, all gestures including flip to shh. There were a bunch of us without sensors and several Goggle support threads that Google refused to help us with, but given this turn of events, I'm probably holding on to my 3XL for a while now. It's my mixed use personal/work phone and all work functions work fine with it. SO keeping it and not upgrading for the time being, despite it having become noticeably slower.
