[Pixel 3] Play Spotify without unlocking my phone

[Android Central Question]

Hello,

I keep my phone locked behind a fingerpint. However whenever I'm in my car, I don't want to have to fumble around with unlocking my phone just to use Google Assistant to open Spotify. Currently, when I ask GA to play something on Spotify, they respond back saying my phone needs to be unlocked for this. Is there any way I have just Spotify be able to be controlled while the phone is locked?
