Pixel 3 - WiFi is saved but won’t connect

Was really excited to use my new Pixel 3 overseas on vacation, but running into problems with hotel WiFi that require login via user portal.

I am able to log-in the first time fine in hotel lobby, but when I get to hotel room, indeed the signal weakens a bit, and subsequently the WiFi is simply ‘saved’ and when I press-hold to connect, it attempts to connects then just reverts to ‘saved’ and there’s no internet access nor does the login portal page return.

It’s quite frustrating as my other devices (friend’s iPhone, ipad, my windows laptop) all connect without such issues. The only thing I can think of is the WiFi signal is considered too weak by the pixel3 so doesn’t connect, while my other devices do not make such consideration (??)

I have tried the entire gamut of suggestions googled (restart device, reset all network settings, ‘forget network’ and try again, etc), but nothing seems to work

I have a work around in hot spotting from laptop to phone but i want my new pixel 3 to work as intended!

Welcome to Android Central! Are there more than one hotel wi-fi networks you may have saved? If so, make sure you've forgotten all of them (in case the phone is trying to connect with the hotel lobby's access point, instead of the one closer to your room).

There is only one hotel wi-fi network i am pretty sure. It’s labeled as HOTELABCDEFG (where ABCDEFG is name of hotel). Also I have done ‘reset Wi-fi, mobile & blutooth’ a number of times to no avail

Hotel wi-fi can be such a pain -- I was just dealing with that on my wife's Surface Pro!:-\ You mentioned the signal weakening -- are you saying the wi-fi signal indicator shows only one bar, while your friend's devices all show full bars? Is this a big or small hotel? If it's a small hotel, see what happens if you ask your friend to disconnect all of the devices (just in case the hotel's router limits the number of active connections).

Hello, I am not sure if this issue has been resolved because i have similar issue with my pixel 2 XL. When I try to login into WiFi networks by tapping 'Tap here to sign into networks" it does not do anything neither takes me the login user portal

I tried all those forget network, reset all networks, restart device, boot in safe mode. Please Help!

After connecting to WiFi instead of tapping on tap here to sign in, open browser like chrome and navigate to any site like Google.com. That should redirect to the hotel WiFi login. Check if that method works.

Agree with bhatech. I've always had to go to some website for the portal to come up. Then it usually "remembers" the sign on and you're good to go.
