Pixel 5 or iPhone 12 Pro?

That's a toughie! You could always try the new iPhone and if it doesn't meet your needs, bring it back within the return window. Sometimes, you gotta hold it in the hand and use it for a bit to decide whether or not it'll work for you! Keep us posted! :)

Able to reserve one today. Let's see how it goes.

I have both!

The iPhone 12 Pro is the nicest phone hardware I have used to date, different league to the Pixel really which should be no surprise given the price difference. It is lovely though

I still prefer android though even if more often than not apps feel slicker on the iPhone. I also wonder if the Pixel camera has been overtaken this year? But that is maybe a thread on it's own!

Being a phone addict, I was able to buy the iPhone 12 pro last night at my local Apple store. I switched from iPhone 11 Pro to Pixel 4 XL last year mainly for the camera and so far loving it

I really wanted to like the iPhone 12 pro and come back. Initial impressions so far. Great looking phone with amazing feel and build quality. Not surprisingly I found it small to hold coming from 4 XL. It’s been a day and surprisingly I’m m not enjoying the iPhone as much as I thought I would. I actually like some of the android gestures more and miss it on iOS. I always used to prefer the fluidity of iOS over android.

Have taken a few indoor photos on both phones and pixel 4XL photos are the same or better in some cases. My pixel 4 XL is as smooth as iPhone 12 pro in general use. I’m not a gamer or big into videos. So I don’t find any difference in regular use between my he two.

Some of the apps are definitely better on iOS.

I’ll continue to use iPhone for the next few days and see. Can’t see how I can justify spending almost CAD1500 when I can get a Pixel 5 for half of this.

The lack of 90 or 120 hz is a little jarring on the iPhone for sure.

Re the camera the Pixel is IMO still the most consistently good android camera you can buy. I would say though under some conditions a little scutiny does show the hardware limitations. I honestly think though that the iPhone is now the better camera but I'd put both of them ahead of any of the other droids available.

I have a Pixel 5 and and iphone 12 Pro... I tested the nightsight camera option tonight and I am very impressed. The iphone 12 Pro can't touch it on clear pictures in low light... Just my opinion....

The Pixel has always performed well in nighttime/dark conditions.

It's been 5 days since I got the 12 pro. Surprisingly I still prefer to use my 4 XL still. While I'm playing with my 12 Pro, my sim is still in my 4 XL and I don't have the urge to use iPhone more even though it looks gorgeous.

I think I'm so used to android gestures and feel is pixel i dont use iPhone too much.

Tonight I'm going to a party where I'll take low light pictures on both the phones. Most likely I'm returning the iPhone and will order the pixel 5 in sage when it's available

I had the 12 Pro side by side with P5 ...I’m used to larger phones so the 12 is small to me but going with it this year ..P5 feels even smaller even though they are close in sizes ..I think bc of the design more square and weight you notice it P5 is lighter ...both screens looked good next to each other ...

Wait till the pro max with larger sensor that lets in more light....

That's interesting. It's true that we get used to certain things sometimes, and it's hard to truly get invested in something new. How were the photos? Keep us posted on what happens!

I've heard really good things about the Pixel 5. And the Sage Green's beauty is an added bonus.

This is typical of what I see with pets, the fur is has been smoothed into mush. I see a similar thing with skin when photographing my kids.

It is infuriating.

This is probably this biggest thing I hate with Samsung phones (the smoothening). For me, Pixel shows a lot more detail.

That is still a gorgeous Siamese cat!

Thanks, he is actually a Burmese, don't worry I won't tell him!

They do look very similar and are equally as chatty.

LOOL I thank you for that! Ah, I did not know that Burmese were just as chatty as Siamese! We had a Himalayan cat who lived to be in his 20's, and he was quitr vocal, as well!

Still on the fence on getting P5. After reading this thread for me it seems there is nothing much to worry on the 765G used in P5 on a normal day-to-day usage and I don't game on my phone. I'm a Pixel fan i should say. Had a N10+ last year and still preferred to use P4xl even though the battery is better on the note.
For the last 2 months I used N20U. I did like the screen, brightness, that 120hz, the camera and such. But now I went back to my P4XL. Imho, i still prefer and the pixel's photos look better to me. it is more complete on the details and looks pleasing to my eyes. the N20U gives better colors with its oversaturation. the pixel gives me the actual picture of what I see and can always be edited or enhanced if I want it to look like the pics on the N20U. zoom wise yes give it to N20U.
For wide angle I have a moment wide angle lens and yes preferred still the pixel shots. I was also able to get more clearer pics on my 1 yr old daughter compared to my N20U(blurs too much with slight movement). I had a hard time taking pics of food because of the fringing. there were times when the food would look different (color) on what I actually see on the N20U because of maybe too much exposure or brightness setting. Whereas on the pixel I thought the resolution is complete and very accurate. I also do prefer the software experience and haptics of my P4xl. I'm not taking anything away from the N20U i just prefer the whole software experience on the pixel. I have big hands and can do one hand operation on the N20U but I think the size of the P4xl is already enough for me. Battery wise the N20U has more to give but I'm surprised after updates on the pixel it seems to last longer now.
I can't say much on the new iPhone 12 pro, but from what I'm seeing on the reviews it seems to oversaturate like the samsung. but excited to see the 12 pro max.

Hopefully, i'll be able to get a P5 sage.
