Pixel 6.

This is precisely the phone I came from as well and it was a mistake. That's fine, I can handle it for a few more months, and I'm glad I read your post b/c I didn't know Google offered a trade in values for phones. Good news!

They do, but it's worth noting that trade-in credit given is usually less than one can sell the phone for on secondhand markets such as Swappa. S20 FE 5g is currently selling there from around $350, but will naturally continue to drop over the 4-5 months till the new Pixels arrive, and could suffer a substantial hit if the S21FE hits a lower price than the S20FE retailed. I'll be happy if I can get $200-250 for it come trade-in time; less than that I'd probably just hold on to it as a backup.

It is a shame that Samsungs devalue so quickly. My S10+ should have been £1200 new and less than a year after release I paid £700 for it brand new. It was worth the money I paid for it. And now it has a new battery it is like new again and will last me at least another year or 2. And I keep my heart rate monitor, sd card slot and ceramic back build.

Absolutely better to sell then trade in. I've had great luck with Swappa.

As for purchasing. I always purchase via my Visa card, then pay it off. The Visa purchase allows me to register it and get the warranty extended doubling it. So basically, it is a cash sale just via the Visa card.
Then I pay the monthly phone bill via my WF visa and get coverage for accidents, theft, etc., with a max to 600 bucks. It's free. And 600 will not cover the price of most high end good phones, but give me some coverage for free. And i used it once many years ago, and although it took about a month to get the money, I did get it.

Yes! In Canada, my S10 retailed for $1200 on Samsung Canada's website. Now, though, even in pristine condition, I doubt I'd get even half the sales value (not that I sell my phones, but still).

Swings both ways though.

Great as a buyer, not so much a seller.

As there is no 2021 note , mine has been resigned to work duties.

After a brief "try anything apart from Samsung " spell , I bought an open box return as new 512GB S21U for £675. Bargain.

Not just Samsung products. March 2020, I paid $749 for a Pixel 4XL. It is in perfect condition and per google (for a trade in) worth $70.00.

Swappa, Mint recent sales are $299 to $300. Good condition recent sales are $250-289.

It's just the nature of the product and not just this product. Prices just drop and drop hard after purchase and and item becomes "used."

My next phone may be purchased a few months after it has been on the market, and via Swappa and listed as excellent. I have sold a few via Swappa and have great experiences.

Still enjoying my 4XL, but ready for the 6 Pro if the specs measure up to an actual flagship phone. The leaked information is very interesting so far.

That's true, for sure. Definitely a plus for a buyer. That is a huge bargain! Wow! Good for you!

That is a great buy

That is a great buy
It was.

Although not without some drama. .

I'm presuming here, but it looks like it was maybe only turned on and setup briefly. Still plastic wrappers around the frame etc.

Now Samsung being Samsung it seems setting up on WiFi only can be problematic. It took me a little while to notice, but I couldn't get volte or WiFi calling to work.

Turns out the CSC can default to the incorrect region if setup sans SIM. Endless threads on it .

My UK device was on ROMania CSC .
Usual avenues of change no longer work on the S21.
So in the end had to buy some online credits to use Samkey to change the CSC.
Worked a treat. So the phone cost me £678 really.

What a palaver. Glad you got it sorted. But that is a great price.

There's going to be an XL? I can't wait to come back home. Not that my Note 20 Ultra is 'bad'. I just miss Pixels.

I'll most likely be buying them for the foreseeable future :p
I think it is because they usually just work. They feel smooth and the Android e,penitence is clean and unbloated. And the cameras always take the most wonderful photos. They really pushed the barrier of smartphone cameras. Everyone else has had to catch up.

I couldn't have said it better myself :p

Perfectly said, I agree! And now, battery life is better than ever, too! They are great devices!

Battery life is an assumption on a new device, as is whether or not the device can be considered great. And have read many times people were not happy with battery life on the 4XL. However, I will say I am happy with my battery life on the 4XL; however, I am far from a power user. As to the 4XL, it is an ok phone, hate the facial unlock....too slow and sometimes just does not work till power button pressed twice.
I guess I will wait to determine how great the Pixel 6 is after I read quite a few reviews.

Battery life is a moot point. The battery could last half the week and people would still complain. It's just a fact and one of the certainties in life:

Death
Taxes
People ******** about battery life on a cell phone lol
