dos any one have any info on what pixel 7 celler Modems have ? i hope they are a imporvement over the pixel 6

They will have the Exynos 5300g from what I can find. Better? Well we shall soon see. I am very hopeful that they improve over the pixel 6 series modems.

.I would not have known my P6 modem was poor if I had not read all the negative posts.....so for me if the 5300 in my P7P is no worse I am good

Out of the 4 phones that I currently have, s22U, zfold4, OP10 Pro and p6p, the p6p definitely has the weaker signal. I also have more people tell me that the voice scrambles when I am talking on the p6p where they never complain with the other phones. Now that isn't a widespread issue but still it happens consistently.

I've never noticed a weak service on my P6P than any of my other phones but I am here in New York area..

For me, the connection was as good or better on the P6 Pro compared to the Samsung S20 FE it replaced (both on TMobile).

I can't imagine Samsung iterated on their modems to perform worse over multiple years, and have read that Google changed some with the 7 antennae (positioning, iirc), so resulting performance should be appreciably better, though we'll have to wait until phones are in hand to know for sure and what degree.

This is an important question. I wish I knew the answer. Google always seems to skimp on the internals, so I don't expect much.

Never said it was terrible, just not as strong as my other phones.

So far my ability to pull down a phone signal seems as normal as any other pixel I've ever had. I installed my favorite signal monitoring app to test it and it seems normal as can be for my location. So no issues in my opinion.

So far the Wi-Fi in front of my TV has been excellent today.

I will take it for a spin tomorrow and the weekend and test it around the island..

Seeing as this was such a widespread problem, you'd think we would have heard about it being improved from Google, and at least some reviewers talking about it? I haven't heard a peep ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ok so in my brief outing this morning the signal seems marginally stronger. Places where I only had LTE I have 5G with a few bars however, where I previously had low bars on 5G I now have almost full bars. What I wasn't able to do was look at the dBm stats.

My reception definitely is better, but still not like my S22 Ultra or my OnePlus 10 Pro. I think I can live with it.

I will be testing whilst traveling next week.

The terrible modem on the 6 Pro was the camel that broke the straws back etc for me.

It was consistently c20db down on my other devices ( iPhone and S21U at the time ) resulting in dropping calls or not having signal where I should. Making the phone not fit for purpose. I returned mine to Google after 4 months with them saying " yip , yer right "

Early days , but the 7 Pro has definitely improved.

I'll post my experience later in the week once my phone arrives and I get it setup. I work in an area where cell signal is very bad. Many people with different model phones can't get a signal in the parking lot, always walking around trying to get some service. My Pixel 4XL and Pixel 6 both get decent signal in this area, good enough for calls and texts (forget about data). Hopefully my new P7 is just as good or better.

A thread to subscribe to. Perfect! I never want to see this damn exclamation point again. Looking forward to everyone's reports on how well it works
