Pixel ALMOST making me rethink my iPhone

To all the iPhone 7 Plus switchers... I'm considering switching too. How's battery life compared to the 7 Plus? This is my biggest concern... using my phone a lot, I usually end up my day with 30-40% battery left and around 7 hours of usage. Lots of messaging, browsing, youtube and music over bluetooth headphones.

I would be very cautious and even hesitant with anything blue tooth related on this phone . Especially since you use Bluetooth with several devices. While some have zero issues a lot of major issues with Bluetooth

Opposite experience. Nothing but Bluetooth issues with my BMW and iPhone. Pixel has been perfect.

Pixel XL works Great in my brothers Mecedas GLS450 and tested it in my Acura MDX. Works great. No Bluetooth issues so far. No issues with Beats Bluetooth headphones also.

Weird. BMW e60 with phone works perfectly. However I am using a Bose Bluetooth receiver for music and whatnot. Works perfectly.

iPhone is still better. (I have both)

I loved the Note7. I wish it didn't have any problems. I miss it. That phone was better than my iPhone 7 Plus. Sigh.

But you're right. Remember when Apple fans were saying water resistance on phones was meaningless? That was just last year. This year, they can't say enough about it. They love it. I don't understand why tech bloggers and Pixel fans are so forgiving about the Pixel's numerous shortcomings. If the 128GB Pixel was about $500, it would've been totally worth it. But at $817.15? Absolutely not, not when it's missing so many features that many phones have at that price point. I still think the S7 edge is the best Android phone one can buy right now just because it has many of the similar hardware features as the 7 Plus.
Maybe because what you see as shortcomings or must haves aren't in line with our needs and wants? I mean I could say you're living with the shortcomings of Apple but I don't since what I see as bad may not be to you.

So as you said your needs are yours and the pixel didn't fit it.. whereas for some of us it may. ;).

I never had my house burn down but I am glad I pay for fire insurance. Just because YOU don't have that concern doesn't mean other people don't have that concern.

As for Lifeproof case, why should anyone have to spend an extra $100 to get a feature that should already be in the phone, especially when the phone costs $1,000?

Remember when we had flip phones and they didn't have that protection? Nobody cared. A few guys working in construction would buy one or two phones that could take a nasty fall. A lot of them used Nextel phones too. I think insurance was around $3 a month too.

The pixel phones do have environmental protection. I think confirmation bias rules the internet these days and people look at reasons for validation.

I won't pretend my phone can stay in my pocket while swimming in the Atlantic but I'm not worried about walking in the rain with it in my jacket or while hiking either.

The iPhone 7 plus is still miles ahead in battery life and more consistent. Aside from battery, no water resistance and a terrible speaker placement, it comes down to which OS you prefer.

Seriously, you people that say, but you lived without water resistance before... Doesn't change the fact that we have it now and its always better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. It's funny because if this were the other way around and the Pixel had it not the iPhone, the fan boys would be sitting here talking so much trash about the iPhone not having it. It's ok though that the Pixel doesn't.

The fact is, google screwed up in a few departments on this phone. The software and camera are excellent and makes for a great experience. Money wasn't an issue for me so I have both but thats not the case for others. The fact that for the same price you get an iPhone which to me, offers more or you can pick up an S7 for way cheaper that offers even more than both is a problem. The design of the Pixel is not great, the screen doesn't get as bright as the others, the speaker, OMG at least but the speaker on the other side if your going to only have 1 in the bottom. Those bezels...

Oh and if anyone plays Marvel Contest of Champions, it doesn't matter what Android phone you use, it lags on every single one. Those developers have never bothered to fix it. Runs so smooth on iOS.

I love my pixel so much I don't even care that it's not water resistant. To me using an Android phone that is this smooth and this battery efficient blows my mind enough to outweigh the cons of the phone that everyone is discussing.

Am I the only one who likes the hardware? People ask me all the time if I have the iphone....I mean it looks just like it on the front just without a home button. The hardware is solid and the bezels don't bother me at all. I actually like them!

I like the hardware too. If anything it's way more unique looking then ugly as many say. I think the back definitely makes it look more distinguishable compared to everything else out there. The bezels don't bother me either. I don't care if it doesn't have extra screen real estate to be able to see every inch of Instagram, and snapchat or anything else for that matter. I made my purchase because almost everything that it does, it does well, That is good enough for me as I am the only one using it and it does what I want and need it to do.

Well yeah..if an app developer doesn't fix their app then of course it'll run bad. Not sure how that's surprising?

Tell your girlfriend that her new haircut looks unique and see what happens.

Wouldn't phase her in the least. Unique isn't a bad thing it just means different and that something stands out. It's not a negative term in any way

Bottom line is if someone doesn't like the appearance of something, no one is telling them to buy it, especially with all of the other good choices out there

I finally got a Pixel in my hands and it ran so buttery smooth... I'm here wondering how to pitch my iPhone for one

Honestly I'll just be here drooling over everyone's phone so thought I'd say hi
26 smartphones from BlackBerry Legacy, to BlackBerry 10, to every iPhone, to BlackBerry secured Android. Flipped my iPhone 7 for a Pixel. Hands down the best phone I've every used. Only thing missing is iMessage.

As far as apps slowing you down, if you stick to the apps you use on iPhone, that won't happen. The Pixel is a great device. Another drawback though is coming from iPhone 7 the sound isn't as good but the screen is incredibly better!

I'm curious... What did you do before phones were being made with water resistance? Just stay in the house or something..? Would you not carry technology outside now if that feature had never been introduced..?
