Pixel Bluetooth issues

The biggest issue I am having with the Bluetooth connection with my Pixel XL and my car is text messaging. If I am at work/home/store and I am texting with someone back and forth then get into my car (2016 Nissan Altima) and that person text me again it starts to read and display EVERY TEXT we've traded since the last time I was in the car. If I've texted with someone a bunch of times and they just happened to never text me while in the car when they do text me in the car it has gone back to the day before and starts reading text... My notification on my dash will say I have 20 new text messages even though I only have one new notification on my actual phone... and I have to keep skipping to the next one until I get to the end. My 6p never had an issue at all from the time I connected it to the car.... Only other difference between the Pixel and 6p is on the 6p when the car reads the text message and I get out the car the message still shows up in the notification bar as an unread text. Where as with the Pixel when I get out the car the notification is gone as if I have no new text message (which would be more accurate since the car read them out loud)
yup. Same issue for me on my Ford Fusion. SO annoying, I turned off messages on the Pixel BT settings

Although I have yet to receive any texts, so far so good in my 2015 Chevy SS. Actually seems to be better bluetooth performance than my LG G4.

Is there an official statement on this that it has been acknowledged and a fix is coming? I have 3 people in the field here at work just furious that their Bluetooth isn't working in their cars with the Pixel phones.I am very close to exchanging these out for another phone.

Does anyone have this issue? I dont see names, just macids

I have had some issues with my Pixel and 2017 Audi A4. I can connect to BT with no issue and the phone status shows up on the screen. I can switch to BT Media and play music and get turn-by-turn through my car speakers. However, if I am listening to SiriusXM I no longer get turn-by-turn at all. Not through the car speakers or Pixel speaker. This worked fine with my iPhone 6 and iOS 10. I have it set up to play voice over BT and during phone calls but it only works if I the BT input selected and nothing else. This previously worked fine with my iPhone and Google Maps.

I am going to try and play with it today to narrow down the issue. I will also connect to Android Auto and see what happens there.

How is it this problem isn't found on cheaper phones? Pixel is starting to feel more like a trial run phone than an official product...may hold off for next generation.

You'd probably be better off holding out. I can honestly say as much as I love a lot or most of things about this phone the communication aspect of it or lack of communication capabilities just sucks

Make sure to make your voice heard over at the Pixel User Community ---> https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!topicsearchin/phone-by-google/category$3A(discussions-and-feedback)$20is$3Afirstpost%7Csort:relevance

Thanks, I was between this and the One Plus 3T being released soon. I'll purchase the latter and hopefully next year the Pixel will be improved, both in appearance and these bugs. I just can't shell out so much money to have to deal with issues not even found on cheaper devices.

I was going to dump mine off for something else but once I got used to no bloatware and it's simplicity, I decided to hold off.

Knowing my luck I'd get rid of it to find out the software will be patched soon and then I'd have a hard time getting another one as I have the "5" inch blue model and really like everything about it with the exception of not being able to use it to make calls too often . I know Google doesn't want to lose money on this and they're going after apple so I'm hopefully soon an update will change all that's wrong with this phone

Late to the party, but for what it's worth, no issues with BT and my 2016 Corolla. I stream using Play Music, texts come through normally, phone/contacts sync up etc.

Greetings,

Thought I would start a new thread specifically about Bluetooth if anybody is having issues...

In my case I am unable to totally pair my Pixel to my 2016 Honda Pilot infotainment system. The device will pair and seem to be connected as I can stream music from my device. However, if somebody sends me a text the Pilot does not acknowledge it. If somebody calls, the Pilot touchscreen will start to ring and if I tap on Answer call, it acts like it answers but it actually doesn't. My phone keeps ringing and I have to answer the call and talk on my phone. Sometimes the car will still think it's in a call even when I tap the hang up button on the touchscreen in the car.

It was mentioned in the gripes thread that it could be an issue with how Google does Bluetooth. If a Bluetooth headset is connected to your phone when you try to connect your phone to the vehicle, it won't work because Google's Bluetooth only allows one device. In my case I have a both a Gear Live smartwatch (android wear) and the Gear Fit 2.. yes, I'm a geek. If I disconnect both of them, then connect my phone I actually got it to work once, but even then when I hung up on the car touchscreen, it still thought it was connected. I assume it's the Android Wear device since that has a mic in it....

In the past I've always had an iPhone or Galaxy devices and they have never had any issues with any car systems. It's not quite to deal breaker status yet, but thought I'd at least start a thread about it in case others run into similar issues.

I just don't like how the audio has gaps in it randomly during playback. Like it has to catch up or something. Happens during playing downloaded content music as well.
