Pixel Bluetooth issues

This is the second time today that the Bluetooth on my pixel shuts off by itself. I know it's off BC my gear s2 vibrates to tell me it has no Bluetooth connection. Had to manually toggle Bluetooth back on, is this a known issue that I am experiencing? I've had the phone for a month and this is the first time it's happened.

I am interested also. If 7.1.2 fixes this I may download it. But at least we'll know this will be corrected with the final release in two months.

Yes. In fact just started a thread on it. I have have tried it and as of Day 1, it is perfect. Hoping it stays fixed, it was starting to feel like when they first put CDs in cars all over again . . .

Yeah, toggling BT off and on works as well, as I also recently discovered. An annoyance but not a big deal.

Yeah this worked ok, but very annoying. Per above, for me 7.1.2 seems to have fixed the issue. More testing will tell.

Well, unfortunately, after a great day of BT yesterday, my skipping is back. It does not seem to be as severe as it was, but it is definitely present. The one difference is my GearFit 2 was on today, so I do believe it creates at least some of the connection difficulties.

I have intermittent connection issues between my Pixel XL and my '16 Toyota 4Runner. It will automatically connect ever 3 out of 4 tries. When it doesn't, I just have to toggle BT off/on in the quick settings. This was also a problem with my LG G5 running Nougat. When I was on Marshmallow, the BT was pretty much perfect, as far as connecting to the truck. I mainly use it for taking/making calls, not listening to music. I'll have to try it out and see if I run into any troubles with music. I have used it at the gym with a set of BT headphones with no problem.

This is happening to me, too. Started a little over a week ago. I have had my phone since launch.

Happened twice the other day and haven't seen the issue occur since. Very odd

I had it happen three times in one day and then it didn't occur for a day or so. No rhyme or reason to when or why. Very odd. Glad to hear I am not the only one experiencing this.

Its happenning to my pixel xl too..
Skipping on my bose headset..
I had this phone for more than a month... But i never had issue before...
So weird...!

For me, it's not a new problem. I always experienced some kind of skipping with my bluetooth devices with different phones. Started with my iphone 5 couple years ago, then with my Note 4, and now, with my pixel XL. Doesn't bother me too much cause it doesn't happen too often. Have a look at Note 4 bluetooth issues thread so you can see it's not "pixel" entirely related.

Just to share some more info, it seems to happen more when kids are in the car with their bluetooth headsets on. I think it may be related to some kind of interference.

Has anyone with a FORD Escape or any other newer one with MY SYNC having issues when you are connected to bluetooth (btw my connects fine) but my Google maps won't talk to me. Also if I leave the car and it disconnects from the bluetooth it starts talking again. I just got an update to my car today and that didn't help. Any ideas???

I have a 2013 Explorer, not sure if your Escape has the newer Sync 3 or not so this may not apply to you. What I found with mine is Maps will only play the directions over Bluetooth if Bluetooth is currently selected as the audio source. If I'm listening to anything else...FM, SiriusXM, etc. then the directions won't play over my car's head unit. What I've had to do is just go into Maps settings and disable the option to play voice over Bluetooth and just have the directions come from my phone's speaker. Hope that helps.

Hi! I have a 2016 Pilot and I've had my Pixel XL since October with Bluetooth issues, mainly not being able to make phone calls through the car's speaker system. I'm happy to report that I'm able to make and receive phone calls! I'm so excited I feel like I have a new phone! Haha! Thanks Google for taking care of this issue!

Possible Solution:
I did not read through all of the responses to see if this has been offered or suggested, but....I was having the same issue, sporadic connection, through BT to my car. I turned off Bluetooth optimization and it has worked without issue since I made that change.

Where is this setting?

So far so good with this suggestion.
