Pixel - Signal dropping (Update: Google Knows)

Re: Verizon Pixel XL - Dropping calls?

So far so good. I can tell better at home than here at work. But, it's not going from 100% to 0% in an instant like it was doing.

I'm using a Pixel from the Google Store on Verizon. I sideloaded the new build NMF26O today. I tested, and I'm still experiencing the signal drops. Also on a side note, the new gestures are available in this build.

It also seems to have updated the Pixel Launcher to version 7.1.1-3368800

Not sure what that includes...

Re: Verizon Pixel XL - Dropping calls?

Only thing I've noticed is the signal is low when it's in my holster and I'm sitting at my desk at work
Other than that I'm happy with mine I haven't had Bluetooth issues with my blaupunkt head unit or anything of that nature,

I'm forcing the update now and will report back

if i where too buy this phone am still thinking about it how is AT&T cell signal on it i will be uesing this has my go phone has i have AT&T per paid so are there any issue at all ?

I checked modem.img from NMF26O factory image and the issue that many people from South America had (not getting LTE at all) is now fixed.

Re: Verizon Pixel XL - Dropping calls?

Well haven't noticed much difference in signal at home my old zforce used to get 2 -3 bars (I live in the sticks). Getting the same with pixel I would say no better no worse,. The pixel does much better on wifi and let than my z force did

I haven't noticed much difference in my signal either but I've had a few calls on my phone tonight in the same room where all of them were dropping before the update and it didn't drop any calls. Sometimes for a few minutes I even get like 3-4 bars but it goes down after a few minutes. Never saw that before the update.

One thing for sure I did notice is that I am getting better life out of my battery. It was great before but now since my phone isn't constantly searching for a signal as it was when I would go down to zero bars and connectivity it seems to be lasting a little longer.

Things may improve over several days. I usually always give phone updates or computer updates to work themselves in for a few days and in a lot of cases they do improve. I'm happy with the no calls dropped situation though for sure. At least I can make them now

They must have fixed the radios. For the first time, i have actually seen full signal bars! It's not holding around a third and dropping to zero like it used to. Like you said DJM,. Hopefully it'll only get better, but so far so good!

*Update* Starting to drop to zero once again. Not as frequently as in the past or anything but am seeing it happen. I am sure that is going to cause problems with disconnects once again. Seriously time to look for other options at this point

Mine connects to LTE better in the outside world, but only a tiny improvement, barely any, at home. Still has the worst connectivity of any phone I have had. Going to have to live with it. Going to try and save up some money to pay it off earlier than the 24 months and go back to Samsung.

Now that I have the update since yesterday I may go into Verizon and see if another sim card might stabilize things a little more. If not then I'm phone shopping the next few days . Sad Verizon can't get a phone they are pushing to work for everyone on their network

I went to Verizon this Saturday to get my SIM card changed and I did not see any improvements on the drop signals. I have 0 bars but my LTE is still on. However, when I make a call I see that my signal bar goes to at least 1 bar and when I hang up it drops back to 0 bars. Verizon said that this shouldn't be happening and to talk to Google about getting a replacement.

Hopefully switching yours helps you.

That's such crap. VZW told me the same thing all 5 times I called them and both times I returned my Pixels. They're right, it shouldn't be happening, but acting like it isn't won't make it go away.
