Pixel - Signal dropping (Update: Google Knows)

Has any of you tried replacing the Sim Cards? I read that some people having issues with dropped calls got new sim cards from Verizon and all the issues stopped.

I have done that with previous phones and some slight improvement. The best way to get around this is turning off the advanced calling feature..that seems to help the most.

Seems like some people are having the same problem with the LG-V20. I was at Verizon before coming into work and a person came in to return his phone saying he has been having signal issues and this is the second one with the sames issues. I am beginning to believe it is Nougat that is causing all the issues!

Some have believed that. I figured that when some of the Nexus that had good call quality dropped when they went Nougat that it was an OS issue versus hardware. Pain is still there and Google should delivery the fix to Google phones first which I think will happen given the P Canada update delivery. Very eager to hear what those in the US say about the update that should be rolling out today.

Seems like Google got a little sloppy with testing their OS. :-\

According to another post I read on this forum was that someone posted the Verizon change log for the update and nothing at all was included or mentioned in the article in reference to poor connectivity or 4G lite issues being addressed

Great. Well, that sucks.

Re: Verizon Pixel XL - Dropping calls?

When I mention this issue in other threads most folks say they've never even heard of a problem. Makes it tough to choose a new phone with such contradictory info.

So much for Google being in full control. No offensive to our fellow Canadians out there but for something that is exclusive to Verizon here in the states and they receive features that we may not see? Let alone poor connectivity and LTE issues? Not impressed by any means

My iPhone 7 Plus was having LTE connectivity issues when I first got it, but within two days of having the phone, Apple pushed out an update to fix the LTE issues. That's the great thing about Apple. If there's a widespread problem, it'll be fixed rather quickly. Side note: I vastly prefer Android over iOS. The Note7 was my favorite phone this year, until the battery issues made me get rid of it. :(

Back to iPhone if the issues aren't fixed. I can let the Pixel sit on my nightstand as a wifi toy until Jan 5th rolls around to see if they fixed and added the features we're hoping for.

Re: Verizon Pixel XL - Dropping calls?

Hmm from looking at the Verizon release it isn't the 7.1.1 like the people in CA got. I wonder if the Google / non-VZW ones will get the 7.1.1 update or just this minor fix/update.

Re: Verizon Pixel XL - Dropping calls?

Wow! The Verizon log shows no double tap, or raise to wake. No Bluetooth message overload, or dropping LTE fixes. Just a list of a bunch of things I've never had happen to my Pixel to begin with. Like the log is for a different phone......😕

This update deal could be interesting before the day is over. I was under the impression all phones got the same update at about the same time....hmmmmmm.

Verizon is showing that the new update is NMF26O. Google now lists that as the available OTA and according to the list of OTAs available, it is 7.1.1. A few people on Reddit are reporting that it includes the new gestures, so it presumably includes the other fixes from the Canadian update.

Ah okay that makes sense then if it is 7.1.1.

Re: Verizon Pixel XL - Dropping calls?

I am looking at the files Google has posted. I see the one listed on the Verizon page, but Verizon is not in the title. Which means that the Google version and the Verizon are the same file. Unlike last time 7.1 which had two different files. But, to be safe I am waiting on the OTA. Not taking any chances with DIY.

Re: Verizon Pixel XL - Dropping calls?

I just asked on Reddit if the Verizon LTE issues are fixed. But, it may be too early for anyone to know yet.
