Pixel - Signal dropping (Update: Google Knows)

Re: Signal dropping

I used Google support last night to see if they had an idea. Not really. Remove the sim. Clean it and slap it back in. Reboot. Didn't help.

Re: Signal dropping

I'm not happy about it either. Dropped a call when I was talking to my wife. Hopefully there's a fix soon

Re: Verizon Pixel XL - Dropping calls?

Reset your network settings and restart your phone.

When I first got mine calls wouldn't go through our connect either, but after doing the above everything works flawlessly
Where do you find this on the pixel? Never mind I found it. Thanks

Re: Signal dropping

So far about ten days into my pixel I have not had any dropped calls, but the most I have ever seen out of this phone in terms of bars showing on my phone is 2-3 regardless of where I am. As a former blackberry owner on Verizon I never saw 2-3 bars it was always maximum regardless where I was. Everyone was impressed by that. I guess for me the bottom line is if I start getting dropped calls this will become an issue, as I do not live out in the sticks and am in rural areas all of the time.

I do think this is an issue and does need to be addressed as I have read about a lot of people with Verizon returning their pixels because of dropped calls and very low signal. In todays day and age, there really shouldn't be an excuse for that. I can see years ago but we all know technology advances. Maybe this is why phone companies are going into wi-fi calling because they can always blame it on someone or something else and instruct you to check your wi-fi connectivity and such

Re: Signal dropping

Did everyone in this thread attempt to change carrier settings? I'm on sprint and changed from global to lte network settings and all is fine for me

Re: Verizon Pixel XL - Dropping calls?

How did you get wifi calling to work and how do you know it's working? I can't get mine to work. Thanks.

You could put it in Airplane Mode, then turn on WiFi and try to make a call. As for how to enable it, don't know since I don't have it on my 6p, but that what my niece tried on her Turbo 2 when that got WiFi calling.

Re: Signal dropping

Did that and no difference . It's one of the first things I check when setting up a new phone on Verizon

You just go into Settings > More > WiFi Calling and turn it on. You don't have to do Airplane Mode.

I was saying that for testing to be sure that it's actually on WiFi and not off of Verizon's towers. It had nothing to do with how to enable it and I said as much in my post.

Ah okay :).

Re: Signal dropping

What is it about new devices that always seem to have low signal and dropped call threads? I've had the Droid Charge, Galaxy S3, and the Droid Turbo and all had signal issues and dropped calls on release. You'd think the manufacturers and networks would have this down by now.

Yup. I feel the same way. I love this device but can't get over the dropped calls. It just happened to me 2 more times within the past half an hour.

Same here, it's really a problem. I don't want to return it but might just have to. Then what?

Did you try turning roaming on?

It was off until I turned it on manually. Most phones come with it on. It would make a big difference in dropped calls, it's under settings, more, Carrier settings, then turn on roaming

Just turned it on. Let's see how it goes during my next call

Yeah. I mean I'm not doubting there's issues but roaming would allow you to jump on other carrier (as normal) intermittently while in areas that are rough, or allow the phone to connect to a stronger signal in those areas

Let me know, I haven't experienced issues yet but I'm only on day 3 and a little nervous with all the people having issues on here
