I’ve been using and loving my Pixel XL since it came out. I got the bug and bought an unlocked s8 on swappa. Now I bought a OnePlus 5 but haven’t turned it on yet. I installed nova launcher on the s8 but haven’t really tried it. So do I give the one plus 5 a try or are the other two better

Always a tough decision. I think the all round best device would be the Galaxy S8. 😃 The OnePlus 5 is definitely awesome but does lack in certain areas like not having IOS for the camera. I would even be happy keeping the Pixel XL. So my vote would be keep the S8.

Two big things that will be key in your decision making: Screen Display and Camera.

You will have to test it out for yourself as you already have the OnePlus 5 to see how far you like it. Performance wise, you will find all those devices you have are really good, especially OP5 and S8 with SD835 processor.

Since you have all three of them, I DEMAND that you keep us informed of your decision, which will be a tough one :)

I have the S8+ and just got the OnePlus 5. I used the OnePlus for the last few days and I've switched back to the S8+ for a few reasons. The camera is not nearly as good on the OnePlus but it is still ok. Problem is the camera on the S8+ is really really good. Also the screen on the OnePlus is a little dim for my liking. OnePlus is fast as hell though! S8+ is really fast too. Both are good phones but the S8+ in my opinion is the better choice.

I had the same three phones (Pixel XL, S8+ and OP 5). Down to two now - Pixel XL & OP 5 and am leaning towards keeping the Pixel XL. The S8+ was a good phone, but it had some lag and found that I had to keep the resolution down to 1080 so I could get the battery life to last all day. I also hated the position of the fingerprint sensor on that phone.

I find the OP 5's battery will not last all day and prefer the images coming out of the Pixel XL, so will stay with the Pixel XL. I do miss the waterproofing of the S8+ especially given Vancouver's constant rainy weather.

I bought an s8 unlocked rather than the s8+ figuring that it had about the same size screen as the other two. I like the form factor, but for some reason the screen feels smaller than the other two, even though it's not. I'm not sure what I'll keep at this point. Putting Nova launcher on the s8 makes it feel a little more like a pixel, but it still looks touch wiz like to me so I'll see.

S8 is the best phone around at the moment. OnePlus is a good phone but with quite a few compromises, that can be mitigated for extra $60-$120.

Pixel XL is still the best decide on the market, but s8 is also really awesome and it's cheaper with sales. OnePlus 5 seems to be a pretty big mess.

The S8 series is one of the best right now, especially with the features you get for the price (with the ongoing discounts). Plus Samsung has really been pushing regular security updates to it's older devices unlike a couple of years ago, so software updates should not be a big concern. For me the biggest reason to stick with the S8 series is wireless charging, camera, battery life and Samsung Pay.

I know the S8 is supposed to be a good phone but I just don't like the spin Samsung puts on Android. I think I will stick with my OP5.

While I'd agree the OnePlus usually keeps more of its value if there is perceived issues with the OnePlus 5 then the value will not hold up as well as in the past.

I have no issues with the OnePlus. I love it and it's way faster than anything else I've used.

Huh? Pixel XL isn't even the best device on Android never mind best device on the market?

Obviously I would disagree.

I have the regular Pixel and just picked up the S8+ yesterday. I thoroughly enjoy the vanilla android experience but the lack of features associated with the Pixel was not evident until I got the S8+. I love both devices as each appeals to a different audience. Right now I have no intentions of getting rid of the S8+ but will possibly sale the Pixel.
