Hello all,

i am having a problem with my pixel xl for some time. What is wrong with my phone?:

a) phone cannot be turned off - when you turn it off it automaticaly turn on.
b) from time to time (like twice a week) my phone restarts on its own and keep restarting. You see dots, then "G" appears and phone restarts. Only solution is : power button + volume down - recovery mode - it shows "no command". after this power button + volume up click - wipe all data.. phone starts restarting after wipe..and in some time it starts clean.

It is boring to do this all the time. Unfortunatelly i cant send it back because i have a mechanical damage (fall dmg - 1cm on the back side glass - from the second day i bought the phone - never cause a problem).

Is there a solution to this problem??

Thanks in advance,

Karel M.

The mechanical damage may or may not be an issue; sometimes Google will replace a device if it is exhibiting behavior already known to be caused by a hardware defect, etc. It would not hurt to initiate a chat session with Google support: https://support.google.com/pixelphone/topic/7078224?hl=en&ref_topic=7078170

Phone cannot be turned off: do you mean that you tap (tap, not press and hold) the power button and the screen goes blank but then comes right back on? Or, that you attempt to turn the phone totally off but then it immediately reboots?

I have one app (Endomondo) that I *think* sometimes hangs the phone and eventually causes a reboot. I can't swear that it is Endomondo, but the only times it has happened were at the gym while Endomondo was active (but also listening to music via PowerAmp and Bluetooth headphones and Endomondo connected to a chest-strap heart rate monitor...). The point being, the reboots could be caused by an app.
