Place on Home screen function missing

[AC Question]

go to all contacts - select a contact - tap blank area above name - tap menu icon "|"
what appears is Edit, Share, Delete, Set ringtone, & All calls to voicemail
doing the same on my wife's phone gives an additional item == Place on Home screen
Both phones are Moto G, on the same network, and configured the same - I think.
Obviously something is different.
Where does that option come from?

Welcome to Android Central! I don't have a direct answer for you, but you should be able to add a Contact widget by long-pressing an empty part of the homescreen, selecting Add Widget, drag and drop the Contact widget to the homescreen, and then select the contact you want it to represent.
