To everyone that has a One... how are you adjusting to the positioning of the power button/IR blaster? I couldn't hold a demo properly to test it out. :/

Putting the power button on the side of a phone is INCORRECT. It's not a matter of opinion or subjective; it's ergonomically wrong. Whether you're left or right-handed, either your thumb or your index/middle fingers will always be exactly where the power button would be on the side, thereby increasing the chances you might inadvertently turn off your phone, reboot it, shut off the screen, etc. Nobody holds their phone with their fingers up top, and turning your phone on and off is a rare occurrence for most users in any given day. Putting the power button on top is correct. Moving it far to the left, well, that's not the best place for it, but I digress. Also, the headphone jack belongs on the bottom, but that's another story. ;)

Coming from an S2, I was worried about the transition. It took me about 2 hours to get used to it. I picked up my S2 and reached for the top to turn it on. Haha

When I was handling the X+ to get it wiped and ready to sell I kept hitting the wrong side to turn it on. So no problem at all.

I don't know about all that noise but as I've said in the past humans are very adaptable. Use anything for a couple of weeks and it's the norm period. Drive a stick for a while and switch to an automatic and it's weird.... Other way around and that's weird too. No matter where the power button is you'll get used to it. Personally I prefer it on the top. I think it should be an action you no doubt mean to perform.

It's fine to me. Would be just as hard to use if it were on the right side due to the size of the phone. I sometimes find myself using my thumb to turn it on.

Ahem.

Lefties rule!

That is all

I dunno I really like it on the side lol. But since everyone got used to it, that concern is no more. :)

I'm torn on this. I really strongly prefer side power buttons (middle of the side like Nokia does it is best IMO), but I do like that there isn't a separate hole for the IR blaster, it would muck up an otherwise good design. I've been adjusting fairly well. Do I prefer side? Yes. Is the placement a deal breaker? No.

Yeah, I haven't even noticed, and I'm coming off 3 sammies with right thumb power button.

My only issue is how thin the sides are I'm terrified of dropping it. Should be solved when my double dip arrives.

For those of us that don't have the One, where is it located? On my GNex it is on the right side, top, but my iPod Touch has it on the top left. It takes me forever to turn my iPod off now.

Top left

I'm actually amazed how quickly my hands have learned that the power is in top left, home is bottom right, soft key, and back is bottom left. My evo LTE already feels weird to use.

Surprisingly, I haven't found it a problem. I thought I would have some issues I would need to get use to but I can usually it pretty good with 1 hand without reshuffling the phone too much. I was very surprised with this.

The location seems okay for me but has anyone had issues with the button being too recessed? The left side of the button seems to be what i would expect to be normal but the right edge is exactly flush if not a bit indented and makes it difficult to operate especially with one hand ( i have to make sure to push down on the left half of the button). I'm thinking about going in and checking out display model to see if this is something that i should be worried about as if it gets any worse it'll be pretty tough to use the phone.

Being right handed.... Top right would have worked better for me... But I am now use to it's current position.
