Plan to get the Pixel 3 / 3 XL?

I did pick up the Sony WH1000XM2 when I got the 2 XL and this headset is still as remarkable as the day I bought it. The new WH1000XM3 could be a Christmas stocking stuffer this year. Now there's a thought!

Do your have black or gold?

The XM3 is black or Silver

I bought my wh1000XM2 at BestBuy and compared the black and gold. The gold looked like beige to me and I decided on the black.

I got my Pixel 2 on black friday last year from Verizon at 1\2 price with a 24 month payment agreement. There is a better chance of me paying it off, keeping it, and moving to Project Fi full time than getting the Pixel 3 XL. #DatNotch I would only switch to the Pixel 3 for a similar deal if they bought me out but even then, I really doubt it.

I'm very happy with my Pixel 2, it's the cost of Verizon that has me a little bitter. Which is why I'm looking at Fi as we speak. Been trying it out off and on for several months and it's pretty comparable in speed and coverage here at least.

I went with the black XM3s....looks like they are coming in a week sooner

Are you replacing an XM2 with an XM3? If so I'll be very much interested in your thoughts, especially comparing audio quality.

No....I'm just adding this to my collection for when I want to go wireless. I think the sound may be similar but the NC is improved. I think they may be lighter than the XM2s and the charging is now USB C.
Probably no real reason to upgrade unless you want to.

After you've had time to evaluate it, I'd still value your thoughts on the XM3.

Nah...I'm still holding on to the original pixel XL. I wanted the pixel 3 xl until the dreaded notch was leaked. I'm gonna hold out to see what the pixel XL 4 has to offer.

The requisite, annual upgrade question post. Anyone planning on switching? Or not?

Last year, it was "definitely" for me. I'm on the fence this time, made more difficult since I just got a new 2 XL as a warranty replacement.

Thoughts?

3 XL for me.

Will do.

I'm assuming you're using the LDAC codec on the XM2s. Did you have to enable it in Developer options or it configures itself when pairing?

LDAC is automatically enabled and used whenever applicable.

Have you downloaded "Sony Headphones Connect" from the Google Play Store? There are quite a few things you can control. One of the things I do is turn DSEE HX on. It really makes a difference with lossy MP3s.

Don't have the headset yet.... The date been moved up again....looking at Thursday

I kind of do to. I can't go a year usually.

I used to be the same getting a new phone 3 or 4 times a year. But that was then and this is now and the tech is not advancing with inovations like it was back a few short years ago. I don't see the new pixels bringing that much new to the table that my P2 doesnt already do. These days I'll get my money's worth out of a phone before laying down the big bucks required for a new one. My pixel 2 easily has another year or more of good life yet. :)

You know I read some poster, in one of these tech forums, say that they had a hard rule on cost. They expected 1 year of performance for every $200 they spent on a phone. Now I don't know if they ever paid full retail or anything like that, BUT I found it a fairly good guideline.
