Plan to get the Pixel 3 / 3 XL?

No plans to upgrade, battery, camera(Especially the camera) new OS (P), everything is still great. The 3 isn't going to offer me anything I need...

I would more likely buy a discounted P2 for my wife than a P3.

Don't forget the 2 Year warranty.

I just got my Pixel 2 a month ago and it does everything I need and more. I enjoy pie gestures and how fluid it works. 4 years or so ago I would dump cash into the latest model but these days I spend less and less time with custom roms and such so I try to get as much life out of my device as I can.

I'm in the same boat. My wife has a Motorola Nexus 6 and her battery is going bad. When it reaches 20% remaining it drops to 0% in 2 min. I'm buying the Pixel 3 XL and giver her my Pixel 2 XL.

My wife has the OG Pixel XL and it's still running perfect. I almost hope that it starts to act up around the time of the Pixel 3/XL launch so that I can warrant just handing her my 2 XL and get the 3 XL for myself lol

If Google will give me $400 to trade in my 2xl, and TMobile gives another $325 to being the Pixel to their network, then I probably will. My 2xl still runs like the day i took it out of the box, but if i can get the 3 for $300 I'll definitely pick it up.

That's my plan. If T-Mobile offers the incentive again I'll either trade or sell my Pixel 2 and take the incentive from them. If not, we'll see.

So yeah if the incentives and trade in values line up I'll probably do it. I don't need to upgrade but the Pixel 3 should offer the 600 MHz band for T-Mobile with the SD845 chip and to me that's a big plus. Also the ISP improvements on the SD845 should improve the camera yet again. Add a bigger screen in the same size device and it's a win in my book.

Since we are on Google Fi and we're only paying a little more than $35 a month for the two of us, simply buying unlocked from Google is far cheaper over time than any of the gouging carrier plans we used to use.

If your with tmobile take a strong look at 1+6t also coming down the road

Seems like a lot of us feel the same way! Reality - my 2XL is still at 93% battery capacity, and it's as crisp and clean as the day I bought it. There is nothing revealed yet that makes the 3 series an order of magnitude better, and there are a few things that could detract (notch if you care, slightly smaller battery, RAM not in line with other flagships and the big size).

Still, there is the gravitational pull to have the latest and greatest Google phone. Right now, I'm less than 50/50 on migrating, but... I am weak.

I plan to upgrade if i am able to sell my P2 for a decent price, or wait until a network offers a great deal, otherwise I'm sticking to mine.

Android P runs great on P2, and unless there are significant changes/ features, it's hard to justify paying that price again.

I was thinking of finally buying a Pixel this year but it has a notch. NOPE. Maybe I'll get a Pixel 2 when it's discounted.

I agree with you. I love buying unlocked. My last two phones were purchased unlocked and outright and I paid them off way faster than I would have, had I purchased them from my carrier.

I just got my P2 XL about a month ago. Only paid $225 after $300 discount and trade in. So as long as it's trouble free I'll keep it at least a year. May even go two years. Nothing about the P3 has me interested enough to get one anytime soon.

While there are always those that get enamored with shiny new toys.

The bigger question is: who still has an original pixel or xl, and STILL don't feel the need to update.

My XL is still the best phone I have had and still runs as good as day one. Any other phone (ios or android) that I have had or seen, starts to go to pot by year 2. Requiring wipes, new batteries or other "maintenance".

Not this thing.

I think I will spend my 800 (or more) on a new set of clubs or some other new toy, and continue to enjoy one of the best phones in the market

Still using my XL, too. I'll continue to do so at least until the Pixel 4. Used my Nexus 5 until last summer, as well. It just works.
