Did you already try turning on the "Don't play music videos" toggle in the YT Music app's settings?
One little nice thing about YT Music -- the screen when using Chromecast has neat little factoids about the band or the song.
Haven't noticed that (perhaps from lack of use..) I *really* miss the artist and album info that GPM showed when you were browsing music, with the summary pulled from wikipedia and a link to the main article. One little nice thing about YT Music -- the screen when using Chromecast has neat little factoids about the band or the song.
I've been debating cancelling YouTube Premium since I have Tidal HiFi and Prime Music, but I don't want to deal with the ads on YouTube or install an ad blocker on all my devices. It's a powerful drug.I never use smart speaker functionality to play music, I just use mine (a JBL Link I got free) as a regular Bluetooth speaker and let it play whatever audio my phone or tablet is spitting out.
I couldn't give you a good opinion right now, as it has been quite a while since I used it. I used it quite a bit a couple of years ago, but preferred Play Music as it had a larger library. It seems like the last time I looked for something specific, it was only available via the Unlimited subscription, which costs extra. How are you finding Prime Music? My husband and I have Prime and are invested in Prime Video, so maybe Prime Music is the logical next step!

you can to view this thread on forum:So knowing YouTube Music was going to replace Google Play I downloaded it and gave it a try a few months ago, didn't care for it but it worked.
Today I got hit Goolge Play Music is no longer available, imported my music to YouTube Music and thought I was good to go but was I wrong. Not only do I have ads between songs, music stops when the phone screen is shut off or I minimize the app. Can't even listen to music while browsing my text messages....
I still have my YouTube subscription and ad free YouTube but now I need to pay separately for music? Is the music side of things no longer bundled in?
Cause if Google wants me to pay for Music and ad free YouTube individually I'll just get Spotify and use ad block on YouTube.
