please assist

Hey I am new to this site.
I am having a major problem with my phone. Whenever I am messaging somone after a few messages say 9 or 10 my fone gets hang..
The msg keeps sending and when i tap the back key the inbox is shown empty..
No previous threads appear in the inbox and then after a few seconds an icon appears on the screen sayin 'unfortunately messaging has stopped working'
I then have to restrat my fone or make a call or wait till it gets better. But this prob has started happening quite frequently now.. plz help

I would suggest trying to clear the cache of the messaging app. Go into your application manager, scroll over to the screen on the far right, and scroll down to messaging.. Select it, then hit the clear cache button..If that doesn't help, repeat the steps above, and select clear data.. If you have any messaging threads stored in your phone, I would go ahead and back those up before clearing data.

Maria,
Are you using the stock Messaging app, or a 3rd party app like Handcent?
Did this problem just start, or has it been doing this for awhile?
Did you recently get an OTA update?
Have you tried uninstalling any apps/updates that you installed around the time that this problem started?
