please excuse my ignorance galaxy s4 versus droid max

Well for me its a no brainer. Coming from the Galaxy Nexus and Razr Maxx HD. You get extra screen real estate with no on screen buttons.

Honestly, I used to think physical/capacitive buttons were better than on-screen buttons. Now I'd rather have the on-screen buttons since you could reduce the bezels and get a smaller phone. You don't need a 5 inch screen when using the browser or texting. When you do need that extra space (movies/games) the on-screen buttons go away.

I could go either way on the buttons - overall I don't care. The capacitive buttons are nice for muscle memory - they're always there, so you can totally develop a habit of hitting them without thinking about it. But they do take up space & make the phone bigger, and don't have the flexibility of the software buttons. When it comes down to it, there are a hundred other things I care about more, so I'm not going to choose a phone over the buttons, but over other features & specs.

I think it was Innocell. It's actually 3500mAh and the phone ends up being a couple MM thicker. My best screen time was a little over 7 hours of screen time, I could get 9+ with this battery. A lot more than what I need and close to if not better than what I have seen on the Maxx :p
And I gotta disagree with the camera, sure you could get decent shots on the Maxx but they're not as consistent and not as detailed.
Hopefully Moto can greatly improve their sensors for the next iteration of the X :D

The S4 camera is superior to any Droid. I can't help but go nuts because in so many situations the Droid camera fails me. Also with that extended battery you're right up there with the Maxx. Possibly a few minutes worse but what's an extra 30 min or so when you already hit 7hours?

From 2600 to 3500, I'd think this battery would give me more than 30 extra minutes of screen time :p

I read your post wrong. There is no way an S4 gets what the Maxx gets or more even with an extended. Well, maybe if you turn everything off. I tend to leave everything on and manage over 7 hours of screen time and it seems like Samsung phones are a bit less efficient.

I have everything GPS on, location services on, and screen set to auto. Still get 6+ hours consistently. Extended battery would get me upwards of 8 :p

Custom ROM? My friend with Verizon needs a charge within a few hours.

This guy clearly got the Holy Grail of S4s or he's not telling the truth because he has battery envy. Nobody I know with an S4 raves about the battery. They say it's solid, and better than previous smartphones, even a big step up, but this guy claims to be getting Maxx type battery stats on his phone and acts like that's the norm , which isn't remotely the case . When I tell my friends the type of battery life I get on my Maxx, they're all amazed. Clearly he's not telling the truth or it's a flukish thing and his S4 is better than everybody else's.

He isn't lying. I can say with 100% certainty that he's a stand up guy and is getting the stats he claims. However, he is using a custom ROM which is why he is doing so.

Yeah, best I got on the stock ROM was about 6 hours and 15 minutes over 15ish hours. Still pretty damn good if you ask me. I rarely use my phone for more than 2-3 hours a day (screen time)

I have seen exynos s4 get 12 hours screen time BTW s800 devices are even more power efficient unless you are a gamer.

that is because kevlar is used in bullet proof vests and it can take a bullet from a m9 to a small assult rifle such as the M4 Carbine

umm, there are no such things as "bulletproof" vests. They are "bullet resistant". I would be willing to bet that a 5.56mm nato round would penetrate a vest with ease unless it was accompanied by a ceramic plate. Just sayin' facts are facts.

I highly doubt that. I haven't seen any phone get more than 9 hours of screen time, let alone 12. Especially not an S4...

No way not possible unless you've got a super extended battery....
