Please help! Why doesn't my phone finish rooting?

I tried to root my Samsung Galaxy S5 but it gets stuck when it gets to the "downloading..." screen.

I downloaded these files onto my computer:
SuperSU
Tar File Recovery
Odin
Auto root chain fire

And I followed the steps in this video:

But, when I try to install super user it freezes when it gets to the download screen. I think it may have something to do with not extracting the super user files correctly or something like that.

Welcoem to the forums. You flashed TWRP first, correct? If you did, you are supposed to reboot to recovery, which is volume up instead of down.

Once there, you flash the superuser .zip file with TWRP.

QBKing77 does wonderful videos. I honestly think he is the one by which all others are judged. He goes over each step pretty well. Sometimes a little fast, but since it can be replayed, that isn't so much of a big deal.

Thanks a lot! I will try them when I get back home. Which one works for a G900H? I don't use a US carrier, so I wouldn't know

Thanks! By TWRP do you mean the file recovery? Because if you do then yes I flashed that first. So do I have to enter recovery mode while the phone is still connected to odin? Because when I press the volume up button it takes me to the screen where you can wipe your phone.

You need to transfer the SuperSU.zip file to the phone first. I always use the Download folder to put stuff in. Do not unzip it.

Then boot into fastboot. I think with the phone off, you hold power + vol up + down (all 3 at once) until you see the robot laying down with an open tummy and 'Start' in red letters. The key combination might be different for your phone though.

Release the buttons and use vol up or down to switch to 'Revovery'. Press Power to select.

It will load TWRP. Tap Install. Find the SuperSU zip file, select it and install.
