I rooted my evo lastnight using a video by qbking, well everything went well but it did not unlock the bootloader, Ive been trying to do the regawMOD all damn day and it keeps failing to send me the email, then it times out. Im not able to do anything root wise with the bootloader locked and I absolutely cannot get it unlocked.

my software version is 1.13.651.1 so I dont think thats the issue, can someone please give me some input here

thanks, how do I check bootloader version? I dont see that in the about section

reboot your phone into recovery mode by holding the power button and the down button together for several seconds. a message will pop up telling you it will reboot in 3 seconds if you keep holding it - let the phone reset. release the power button for about a second and then press it again. it will boot into the recovery screen where you can see what bootloader you have.

good luck

I checked and its 1.12, I just tried the regawMOD once again and it still wouldnt work, keeps saying its most likely a problem with htcdev.com........Idk so frustrating

Try lazy panda it will unlock your bootloader also its the link in my post above

thanks for your help thebizz, I got the bootloader unlocked with lazy panda, but not I cant make or receive calls and cant send or receive sms.........

Ok lol had to call Sprint (so painful) they had to reset the phone, Im all good now. Im on the mean rom right now

Congrats and then it sucks that you had that error after using lazy panda I had no issues at all.

lol ran into a serious issue last night, this phone has been a real pain in the @ss with rooting compared to my former Epic touch! after getting lazy panda all done and installing TWRP recovery, I flashed mean rom, started experimenting and flashed a CM10 nightly rom through the goo.im app, well that was a bad mistake, it kept force closing and wouldnt even allow me to use the phone, I had to force the phone into recovery, well I reflashed mean rom and it got stuck in a constant boot loop, no matter what I did would work, I had to end up downloading and reinstalling the stock rom, after that all was normal. not sure if I got a corrupted file or what but it was a real nightmare. oddly enough after all this I was S-off but lost root and had to start all over, but rooting and reinstalling TWRP but I did not have to use lazy panda again though. again thanks for the link and your help:D
