Please just fix it

You didn't hear it from me, but there is newer stuff out there, that is incredibly stable (newer than anyone has seen so far). I cannot say any more than that . Lets hope Verizon moves their butts to hurry and release it.

For those contemplating moving to another device, consider waiting until GB otas at least.

i assume your talking about a newer radio that will ship with GB?

. :p I need to go find some friends in high places. :D
Well, thank you Sir! If there is anything else you need c'mon up and ask!

As an update.
I went 64 hours without a reboot, so I feel darn good about that.
I ended up rebooted it myself to see if it would help with the signal.
So I fee good about my reboot issue going away. For the others still having it, I feel ya.
The battery seems to be doing better. Last night at full green til this morning left it at 90%.
Does android have a 'settling' like Blackberry after you load it?????

BUT the signal thing is still a major PITA. (excuse me)
I don't know if this observation is helpful to anyone but this is what I've seen.
The 3G will just go away, but the bars will stay showing what my last signal was.
Sometimes it comes back, sometimes it doesn't.
If it doesn't I go into Airplane mode and it takes awhile to switch over.
It seems like the radio is "holding" on to "something"
If I can clear this 'hold' it goes into airplane mode quickly.
Likewise, mobile network won't connect if it's 'held'
If I clear it then I see the bars with the "x" there.
That's when I know the mobile will reconnect....
However, a few moments later it will all happen again.

So....if I can get the signal thing fixed at least I would feel better. Again sorry to the others.

When Adrynalyne talks, my ears perk up...

My phone had rebooted on me about 12 - 15 times while in the middle of a phone call, about 6 times while using the GPS and countless amounts of times when it was just sitting in my pocket or on my desk.

About the only solace we can offer is an assurance that you're not alone. We feel your pain, and scream along with you.

However, yours is the first report I've seen of a reboot during a phone call. Incredibly bad, that is. If you haven't, you might fire off an e-mail to VZW and/or HTC, to be sure they know that reboots can happen in calls, also. The VZW customer service rep who called me had not received reports of any in-call reboots.

I appreciate the fact that we're going to get a software upgrade out of this, but it's simply inexcusable that they have allowed problems as serious as these to languish for so long, especially when a fix is apparently available.

Hope your rooting goes well.

Bill

If you have applied the last update and your still rebootig take it to Verizon and get a replacement

Last night I find out my son has pneumonia and so I'm on the phone, texting and using the internet to communicate. All he while I'm losing my signal half the time. This not ok. This was time sensitive information I was obtaining and receiving. Its times like these that I need my smartphone. So the reboot issue got fixed (for me)....I think I would rather have that issue then the loss of signal every 5 minutes. Oh and the battery went from green light to 70% again last night....
Ummm so again please just fix this thing so I use it.

Friday was the first day since the latest update that I noticed a failure to maintain 3G service on my Thunderbolt. It may well have been happening for several days, but today was the first day I noticed it. Only for an hour or so have I had the 3G icon in the notification bar today.

Is there any kind of user consensus or, more importantly, HTC acknowledgement of a signal loss issue in the aftermath of the latest update?

Thanks,
Bill

HTC/Verizon,
If you perchance care about your end user, I will have to say I'm pretty disappointed.
Yes you fixed the reboot issue but all but made my phone useless because of signal loss.
I had no choice but to waste half a day and learn how to root my phone.
I was able to flash a ROM (Das BAMF sense 3.0 RC4.9) and was glad to see that the reboot issue and signal were not a problem.
So please inform me as to why a small team of ROM developers can get this right and your two massive companies can't???
Anyhow, I had to find my own solution because you didn't fix it.
