Please stop posting that 4.2.2 removed the menu to enable LTE when entering *#*#4636#*#*. It is completely false. I bought my nexus 4 three weeks ago and it updated to 4.2.2 right away. I still have access to this menu and I can change the settings all day long. Its great to help people as long as they are not being mislead.

It can be changed but it doesn't get saved unless you flash the older radio.

Yes you can access the menu but you cannot switch the radio band to LTE then successfully save it (which is the part that matters).

-Dial *#*#4636#*#* into the stock Dialer
-Tap "Phone information"
-Select one of the LTE options
-Tap the "Menu" button in the bottom right (3 vertical dots)
-Select "Select radio band"

To confirm it saved (which it won't if you're on 4.2.2 unless you flashed the 4.2.1 radios), exit & then redial the code & tap "Phone information" again.

What results do you get?
It'll be anything but not an LTE option.
***Keep in mind this applies to the Nexus 4, not the VZW or Sprint Galaxy Nexus.***

Moving on.

This is correct. You can change it but unless you have flashed the old radio it will not stick. I am on Telus in Canada andI could enable this before the 4.2.2 update but not now. I mean sure you can change it, but go right back in there and it is reset.

You guys are going to deep here. All I stated was that 4.2.2 does not remove the option when it is clearly accessible.

No its not actually. If the hardware is there u can use it.

Only if the software running on top of said hardware ? which, in this case, would be the baseband ? allows for it. You simply cannot connect to an LTE network, Band 4 or otherwise, unless the radios currently installed on the device support said network. The update has removed the baseband support for Band 4 LTE, but not the menu option to include it as a preferred mobile data access method (regardless of whether or not the menu item actually works). That's what's in question here.

Well said but flashing a baseband is easier than rooting actually.

That's my take on this thread.

Arguing semantics here. One person saying "you can select LTE but it doesn't work" another saying "LTE doesn't work." Regardless as to how you want to say it, the stock image of Android 4.2.2 does not allow a connection to an LTE network.

Can we please stop feeding the troll now?

Except the hardware isn't there. Its missing signal amplifiers and other critical hardware.

Please stop posting that 4.2.2 removed the menu to enable LTE when entering *#*#4636#*#*.

When I type in star pound star pound four six three six pound star pound star, I get a message that comes up saying "Please stop trying to enable LTE, you silly Clevelander!"

What offends me is that I'm actually from Euclid, not Cleveland.
