Plugged LG G3 into USB of my chevy cruze

I only have songs that are on my "phone" accessible.....Do I need to put my music from my sd drive onto my phone so the car stereo will be able to read it.

I can use my aux chord (I know read all about it)...and I can have access to my music on my sd card via player pro.....but, the sound is so much better...via usb.

any help..? thanks

What year Cruz? I was able to retrofit my Bluetooth and add Bluetooth media (music) syncing from my phone to the car. I have a 2011 that came with Bluetooth audio only, adding a $90 part to get Bluetooth media.

2014 Chevy Cruz, plain jane..nothing special. I can make phone calls with my blue tooth...but do not have the blue tooth media sync to my phone.

Is the bluetooth media a chevy add on?

From my experience the USB ports on cars only work with iPhones. I've plugged different Android phones into them and they don't communicate.
