Pocketnow HTC 10 camera review after update.

I have the same phone with the same software. I'm telling you there's not a huge difference in camera quality after that update. Little things? Sure. A major shift in quality?

Nope. And that's ballsy, doing before and after pics outdoors, in uncontrolled lighting, and then showing different crops. (In other words, those are not the same pictures taken under the same conditions.) But, hey. It's "real," right? And as "real" as any other pre-release look can get.

But like I said, I'm really not going to argue about it anymore.

I also can't say anything more about additional updates that might or might not be coming very, very soon. Guess you'll have to wait for those "real" reviews that come after the other "real" reviews.

Really, that was some PT Barnum, Pink Salmon-level trolling. Kinda proud of 'em, actually.

Well, that escalated quickly.

My point is saying "This is a REAL whatever" is disingenuous — using the exact same software as everyone else.

BTW: My second opinion review is coming up next week. And it's no more "real" than anyone else's. :p

I think this puts an end to the discussion.

So yeah. While some reviewers see the difference other do not. They all have the same version. Nobody got "the" update.

Because there is no "the" update. THAT's the problem. Somewhere someone decided that there's some cure-all out there for cameras, and it's only a matter of time until that update is released. That's just not how things work most of the time.

And especially in this case, with a camera that's already REALLY good.

That said, this upcoming update should be a bigger deal than the earlier one we got. (I've said too much already.)

But in any event, this is all pre-release stuff.

Yes yes we understand.

You're saying that no update can "fix" the camera that's already this good. And that it has never happened before that a software update has fixed a bad camera.

We understand :)

The HTC 10 has a good camera!

It's just the way the reviewer presented the idea of the update which had us all confused.

Thank you.

And also, how about that video idea? :D no? Okay :(

Look Phil knows what he is talking about folks he has been doing this for a long time come on. Just like when he said there were no headphones and we all were sending in tweets from HTC saying we would get them and what happened with that Phil ended up corrected and I know I was who sent in a tweet along with others who sent in screen shots, and the guys from HTC were like uh sorry not for the US only for Europe so can we say lets trust Phil at this point there is no gain for him or anyone else at AC to be hide the fact of a freaking simple camera update if it happened or not, no gain what so ever.

Maybe you're referring to my posts where I said 'fix' when I really should have said 'improves'. That's my mistake, I didn't mean to imply the camera is bad or broken and this magic update 'fixes' the camera.

I agree with you, from everything I've seen, the camera looks great and whatever updates come down the track are improvements, not 'fixes'.

Also, when this second update drops, if there is a noticeable improvement to the camera experience, would you guys update the HTC 10 review or write a new article about it?

To be fair, the message around the headphones was pretty conflicting for a while. I had to ask a few times before getting something definitive. :)

Do you still use the 10 as a daily driver? Or did you have to send the review unit back?

Read through the thread. Kindly.

This wasn't the subject of the discussion.

Thank you.

I know what the subject was I used another example where we all got hyped up on what someone else says vs accepting what is being provided by another trusting source don't do the whole read the thread thing okay.

Agreed Phil I just used that scenario an example to get the point out trust that you do your due diligence when it comes to providing us with info. Sometimes we want things to be different in that case even after you came back with the facts several times we were still providing quotes from others and twitter. I was one of them.
