AC Question

Firstly, sorry to all the poor souls that DONT want to read about pokemon but after doing everything possible to correct this fault, i have no where else to turn!

I recently bought a Samsung Galaxy s5, my GPS and location services are on (high accuracy mode) and it works in all other apps like google maps, instagram locations etc.
But as soon as i try Pokemon go, all i get is "GPS signal not found", i have tried restarting my phone, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, ive even tried downloading GPS boosters to no avail.

Is there anything i can do to rectify this situation or is finding another phone my only option?

Hello, does the GPS not found come and go? If it is helps, you are not alone. There are many reports of this happening. It does not appear to be device specific, or even OS specific.
My family has different devices all with different OS's and we run into this problem constantly.
Since this is this the fastest growing game in the history of mobile apps, I don't think the game or the servers were ready and now they are playing catchup.

I would avoid signal boosters. Don't rely on the bars on your screen for signal strength. You may have one bar but in the settings there is a dbm number. The lower the number the better. For instance, I can have full bars but my dbm can be a -100. Another device can display 3 bars but have a -85dbm. The -85 indicates a much stronger signal and therefore would allow gps to lockon quicker and more accurately.

At this point it is hit or miss. Are you walking or driving with the app open. Driving with the app open can cause GPS issues and is also very dangerous.

which version of pokemon go have you installed? If its the 0.29.2 then uninstall and install 0.29.0 I had very similar issue with 0.29.2 version. hope this helps.

Had same problem was able to fix it by downloading two apps ActiveGPS- GPS booster and GPS Status & Toolbox and I opened them along with google maps and started pokemon go and it worked for me.

I don't see an option to revert to the earlier verison
It automatically gets 0.29.0

Litteraly all i had to do is update the good play services :) since pokemon go is new it wont tell you to update it, hope it helps.

I'm using a Galaxy S7 and an iPhone 6s when I go to locations everything spawns on my iPhone but nothing spawns on the Samsung the signal is exactly the same I've been logged into the account I usually run on my Samsung with the iPhone and everything started spawning I'm really confused

I had this issue. I went looking through my phone settings. I found out the s5 had developer mode enabled. I turned it off and now the gps errors dont show up in pokemon go anymore and i can play without issues. Hope that helps!

I just got a new phone and down loaded pokemon go from google play and it won't work gps signal not found and I looked and they have .33.0. Tried what it said and nothing works not even active gps that I downloaded. omg help

does opening the Google Map app help in making your location as accurate as possible in Pokemon Go?

It is possible the issue is from Pokémon GO itself. I've had this happen before for a bit even though my location services were on. Eventually it stopped though and it was probably because an update. It could also mean you have an outdated version.

Interesting. Do you know how developer mode affects GPS? And does this also apply if G Maps keeps telling me GPS signal lost alert?

Have you install Google maps. If you already have, try activate the app. It will automatically set your phone location. Then go back to your Pokemon app. Good luck.
