Yes, I would pre-order devices from the Play Store again, just with lowered expectations.

(I hope the next thing is a killer Google TV box with DLNA, lots of video/audio connections, etc., i.e. not the Q ball thing which is cool if it's your only stereo, I guess, but a little expensive.)

I pre-ordered to get a place in line in hopes of getting one before they sold out of the first run. So far it looks like I will and that's ok, launch/shipment/communication fubars notwithstanding.

I know I will be buying devices from the play store again. I will probably not preorder anymore though and just wait until the devices are fully released. This is how I've always done in the past and it's worked out.

If you're not pre-ordering, there's even l less incentive to buy from the Play store. Why pay inflated shipping charges when you can buy at a store close to you for no additional cost?

I would even say that support will be better from retailers. If the item is defective, you can go in and exchange it. With Play, you have to deal with return shipments.

5. I'm very middle of the road. on 7/12 I got an email from Google saying that the order for my Nexus 7 had been cancelled. I live in a small town - we don't get mail delivery because we're so small, therefore my address isn't in most databases - so Google's database didn't recognize my address at the time my shipping label was being printed (not at the time of order - 6/27), and they just cancelled it. When I called I was told I can just place a new order with a different address. I complained that I would now move back days in the shipping que. They said sorry, nothing can be done about it.

I will buy the next nexus hopefully coming out later this year or early next year. Depending on how they handle second time pre-order a device will determine if buy from them again. However I still myself buying devices but just not going to bother with pre-order and just wait when a device actually in stock to order.

Hmmm probably not. Im at a 7. It really depends on if i have a problem with my device or not. And if I do how it is handled and how quickly I get a new device in my hands. We shall see since mine shipped and I should be recieving it this week. I could go down the scale if all is good.

If I went to an Italian restaurant and the ravioli tasted like it came out of a Chef Boyardee can, I would not be happy and I would not go back. The restaurant fans on urban spoon would be correct that the restaurant didn't break any promises. The restaurant said it was ravioli. They didn't say it would taste good.

That's how I feel about the Play store.

Yeah, that's pretty much what the fanboys are arguing, isn't it? Someone (can't remember where) said it's like ordering a pizza and getting it 4 days later--they didn't say when it would be delivered!

As of right now, highly unlikely would I order another hardware/device straight from Google Play if i can order one from my local B&M with the same benefit/extras. I'm still waiting for the CC charge. (1st week preorderer)

Software, I would still purchase them.

Exactly how I feel. I actually would order from Play store again for hardware. But I would carefully consider it. The shipping fees strike me as a backdoor attempt to bolster margins. It's not like Google is charging retailers more. In fact, they are probably discounting wholesales to leave room for retail margins. But their own customers? They charge them shipping to preserve their margins.

Within their rights to do so. But my loyalty is to my wallet. I don't like getting ripped off. If they can't provide any added value for the shipping charge, B&M gets my business.
