Hey guys just wanted to gauge how satisfied ppl are after rooting and installing a custom rom.

If anything, we can link to this thread for all the skeptical ppl on the edge of rooting. Assuming of course there is a high satisfaction level.

I AM TOTALLY SATISFIED WITH ROOTING AND CUSTOM ROMS!

Sorry for yelling but I am very happy with the way custom roms have improved my Nexus. :D

Just want to mention, even if you are just passing through this thread. please leave a vote, only takes a mouse click.

Re: [POLL] How satisfied are you after rooting/installing custom

Obviously, I hate your blasphemous "flashing."

Re: [POLL] How satisfied are you after rooting/installing custom

Hmm.. obvious poll result is obvious... :P

Also even though I voted 'Very satisfied, shoulda done it sooner' ... I feel its misleading since I unlocked and rooted this baby 3 minutes after I got home with her.. HOW MUCH SOONER COULD I DO?!?

lol :)

I'm very happy and for real if you own a gnex root it and you will see de difference

I cant imagine NOT rooting and flashing. For me, owning an Android device is synonymous with rooting and flashing. I have chosen this platform for the ability to completely take ownership and control of my device. I realize that not all people feel compelled to do this; however, not only is it rewarding and fun, but rooting and flashing truly unlocks the potential of the device as well as unlocks the potential of the user in terms of knowledge of the device. Too many people are ignorant of technology these days. I don't mean that as a slight against anybody personally but as a general statement of fact. I try to understand and learn about the devices I own and operate as much as I can. I don't believe in being dependent upon others for my understanding and operating of technology. Personally, I don't think others should as well. :)

Yeah I was thinking on the wording but then I guess primarily this was for recent rooters.
I left mine stock only in the car ride home from the vz store.

I knew/hoped the results were going to be one sided, but still early, maybe after a week or so we can get a good interpretation of satisfaction. This needs some of them general section users to vote.

Lol word. On my ride home from the VZW store I detoured to pass through my work site and some local areas to see if the signal held as well as the bionic did.. because I knew once I got home I was unlocking and that was that :)

I am extremely satisfied. When I bought this phone I told myself that I wouldn't play around with it too much since whenever I did on all my other phones bad things happened. However, just recently (past week) rooted/unlocked and then it began. Installed LiquidSmooth yesterday and today just flashed the new LeanKernal and so far love it. I was in a bad cell service area for dinner for about an hour and a half and generally that would mean my battery life would go down 5-8% when idle like it was. Nope. Dropped 2%. Love the kernal and ROM combo!

Nice poll davey. Who the $%^&* voted eh, not bad?!?!?!?!?!?! :) jk

Re: [POLL] How satisfied are you after rooting/installing custom

I was skeptical at first, but after finally letting my rom/kernel combo settle in, I realized how much potential this phone really has bottled up in stock mode.

Unlock, Root, and Unleash!

Amen. This device may not be the ultimate in specs, it may have a crappy camera and questionable radios, but once unleashed I think it's the best Android has to offer.

To be honest, for my purposes the camera has worked out just fine, if not great. MP's aren't everything. :)

I agree. I used Instagram maybe twice, and I just don't take pictures so anything is better than nothing on my end lol

I don't have a problem with the radios or the camera. I guess that's just my experience. Everybody raves about the photos I take with my GNex. The problem is that most don't take the time to lock in the auto-focus. Sure, if you take quit photos utilizing the quick shutter, you may not get as good a photo, but if you take your time, utilizing the camera's settings/options and auto-focus, the pictures are quite good. As for the radios, maybe I just live in a good 4G area, but no problems. No dropped calls. Good 3G/4G switching. Call clarity is great. People complain that the GNex isn't a good phone but its not the case for me! :)
