Are you ditching the Nexus for a plan B?

If a new product gets slightly unveiled, and Verizon can't get their ish together, than I'll save my upgrade for something that appears better.

Ugh....this upgrade is killing me to sit there unused. If it is in fact delayed until mid-December then I guess I'm going with an iFail 4S. Might as well at this point.

is it true that you're currently using an iPhone 4? jumping to an iPhone 4S seems like a waste of money and upgrade in my humble opinion. I think that phone does quite well for itself in today's saturation of technology. Maybe its just me - I know im itching for a larger screen and some ICS, but im by no means frustrated to the point of burning my upgrade on a device thats available now rather than at most a month and a half away...

if I may say, DONT DO IT. IT WILL BE WORTH THE WAIT!!!!!!!!! /end_rant

My Fascinate is a little beat up, but still functions fine. So, it's the Nexus for me.

Although, if I had to pick an alternative it would be the Rezound.

This is NOTHING different from the release of most major devices of late (look at the oldest pages from the Thunderbolt and Bionic forums). You could copy and paste the rumors from one forum section into another. It's just the price we pay for a highly desired phone. You can wait it out or get another device.

I'm confident that Verizon will get the Nexus soon. If for some unexplainable reason Verizon ditches or delays the Nexus at this point that's their loss, and I'll probably research the Rezound a little. I highly doubt it will come to that though. They already have cases and training info on the Nexus, so they've already invested a lot into it apparently. Not to mention their single goal is to make money. This phone will make them money and they know that.

I agree the 4S isn't much of an upgrade over my 4 but every night after 9pm (Apple's stock update) I almost order one out of boredom. I've been using the 4 since February and this is the longest I've used a phone in years. I generally upgrade every 6 months tops. I don't mind using my upgrade now because I have 4 more coming all throughout 2012.

I keep watching videos of the GN and that's about the only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger on a 4S. It's just so amazing.

I have already put plan B into affect. I bought a RAZR Saturday, planning to return it within the 14 day period. If we do not get a official launch date within my 14 day window, which ends on the 27 I guess i am stuck with the razr. I am contemplating going without a personal phone for a week if nessesary, once again all I need is an official release date. Whatever I do, screwing Verizon is my main goal. $35 restock fee is peanuts compared to the hit big red takes on a factory referb.

My back up is the Razr...but only because I got a free Razr sitting at home in its pretty little black box. My Fiance got a free Razr with 3 months service from the Ellen show. She let me have it, so I have 3 months to activate it and get 3 months credit upto $115 on our account. If the Nexus is not out by the due date I will activate it. If the Nexus comes out this week I will have a NIB Razr for Sale :D

I have patience, not in a rush. My current phone works just fine for me, so I won't go postal if the phone doesn't come out until December, or whenever.

I will however get it the day it comes out -- whenever that day may be.

I've already sold my Trophy in anticipation of getting the Nexus so I'm rocking a 3 year old flip phone in the meantime. For some reason, I can't download Backup Assistant so I don't even have my contacts on my phone, much less apps, e-mail, or web browsing. If Friday comes along with no information, I may give in and get a RAZR, especially since the return period is extended due to the holiday season.

I will wait. I really hate it but, I know if I got the Razr or Rezound I would regret it when the GN finally does become available. Having said that, this may be the last phone I ever get on Verizon.

did you guys see the new return policy for Verizon you have till jan 9th so use your upgrade and get either the DROID razr or the rezound and return it when the nexus comes out.

I may take advantage of the longer return period and try out the rezound. Will wait until next week if no announcement then I most likely will go that route.

Just make sure of the start date, which I think is tomorrow. And probably, possibly only through Verizon first party stores. Don't want people who already jumped on the razr or rezound today or prior to get eft

Can you do that? Can you keep your Unlimited Smartphone Data Add-On feature if you switch to a feature phone, even temporarily? The reason you can't download BA( or use GIN ) is because Verizon cut off Media Center features support for almost all their older phones that were inactive as of 3/25/11. Here is the Thread explaining it from HoFo: Media Center Catalogue Shut Down For Older Phones (after 03/25)!?!?! Note:Check out the last page of the Thread. It has a list of older phones which can be updated,in store, to access Media Center again.

If he had unlimited data he lost it changing to a feature phone.
