poor battery life on not 5

I have poor battery life mostly on android os and cell standby. I don't have any streaming, games or social media app on this phone. Why is the battery life gone from excellent top poor. Went from and a half days of charge before a charge needed to less than 24 hours. Note this is since the latest verizon note 5 update for December
