And if it is based on the G2, there's a good chance you'll still have a small % of users complaining about the noise. I suspect your search will then continue again.![]()
If that's the case, then you're right. The most important feature of a cell phone, to me, is that it works very good as a phone. Everything else is just something that I could have used a larger/dedicated device for that I just choose to use the phone for in an instance for convenience. Like I had said, after dealing with the buzzing noise in the 4S, I won't take a chance if even a small amount of users are complaining specifically of a random, or constant, buzzing/screeching in the earpiece. It's enough to drive you crazy.
I've had this EXACT issue since day 1 of owning my VZW G2. 8 out of 10 calls sound horrible as if I have terrible reception but i have 4 or 5 bars and 4g when on the call. Tech support made me switch out my sim card, updated my PRL list and remove me from their "switch" and recreated my switch profile. Im still getting the call quality issues so today im exchanging my phone =(
You're exchanging for another G2 or a different phone? As I said I've gone through 3, they all do the same (with all new SIM cards that come with them) in the same way. Let us know if the exchanged one works.
Im replacing it with another G2 and another Sim card. I gotta try something before its too late. Ill let everyone know if its any better.
OK so with the newest G2 I got, the problem seem to be gone! I kept my same Sim card since i thought it might be the ear piece or a radio issue, but the problem seems to be gone =-D
I also installed the latest OTA. not sure if that helped.
Had reception issues before and after update.I had Verizon G2 before update had reception issues. Did update help reception? I have Maxx great reception and battery but rest of phone is mediocre. I have about a week left to switchback.

I made a mistake and waited past my 14 day return period even though I've been getting the digital screeching since day 1. Verizon says they've never heard of anyone else with this issue (the guy that sits right next to me at work has the same issue) and even called LG who also denies they've heard of anyone else with this issue. They claim it's probably a network issue on their end and want to investigate for 5 days. After that time, if they can't fix it, they'll offer me a refurb of ANOTHER DEVICE since they don't have any refurb G2s in stock yet since it's so new.
Verizon is the absolute worst company in the world. I'm really close to throwing this thing in the trash and buying a Nexus 5 and signing up for Straight Talk.

So you had problems with the phone from day one but didn't return it in the 14 day period you have to return it and that is somehow Verizon's fault?
So who is saying they will give you a refurb different phone? Verizon or LG? It is hard to tell by the way you wrote that. If the phone isn't working right they (Verizon) has to replace it with the same phone.
I have had the phone since release date with no problem.
