Anyone else phone getting really warm after the Oreo update? I was in the beta and didnt notice it then but any day over 75 degrees it and mine gets really warm and the battery takes a hit. I got 2h5m of screen on time today and I'm at 22%, temp was in the high 80's today.

What y'all think? Is it dying or is it Oreo?

FYI phone is about a year old

It could be the sunlight. Is it in direct sunlight? I have an issue where if it is 80's and sunny, and I leave my phone in the cupholder in my car with the moon roof open, it gets pretty warm. The phone is all black so it kind of makes sense.

I was outside but phone was in the shadow of myself so I could see it. I still don't remember having this problem before recently.

I'd have to say that it's Oreo - my battery life has been crap ever since the OTA. It's been a couple of weeks since the update and I just haven't had a good opportunity to perform a Factory Reset but that's next on the list.

I can't say that I've noticed the phone being hotter than usual and I don't usually run an application to monitor that.

My battery life has been ok with the update. However my battery is faltering fast. I miss the days of 4-5hrs of SoT...

Try disabling the Google Assistant, AND the associated Feeds.
This fixed my Oreo battery drain, mostly, or at least brought it under control.

Not sure why this is an issue in the RTM build, I wasn't have an issue on 7.12, or on the final preview build, but I sure am on this build.
Actually, I really wasn't seeing it at 8.0 RTM itself, but when they released an update to the "Google" app, which encompasses the Assistant, several days after going RTM, but boy was it dramatic, 15-20/hr, that the Assistant was eating up.
Seems like it's possibly just the app, or a combination of the app and the build, who knows, I wish Oreo had same old battery graphs...

Well I'm pretty sure it's the battery dying. Twice in the last week it's got down to 15%, battery saver kicks in, then instantly drops 0% and shuts down.

Only need it hold out a couple more weeks for the Pixel 2 or V30
