Poor Motorola Droix X battery life?

Mine has actually been kind of good out of the box... I went from 2 or 3pm to about 8:30am today, with lots of playing (installing apps, streaming music, setting it up, etc) last night before bed. It did not give me any battery warnings until this morning, in the car on the way home from dropping my son at day care. It said 5%, then within about 5 minutes it was dead and turned off.

It took about 2hrs or so to completely charge. Took it off the charger between 10 and 11am. Again, more playing (surfing, downloading, copying pix, etc) this evening and tonight... As I type this, the battery is at 50%. I'm going to bed now.. I'll leave it off the charger over night.

Yeah, that's not the newest one. Try pulling it from the Check for Updates option.

since activating... check for updates has told me that mine is "up to date" and no updates are found.

I have .516 also. I'd love to get .604.

Might have a blown cell, take out the battery and if it seems like a row on the battery is bulging out, take it into Verizon and be all in their face about bad service and such, and you'll get a new one free! but if they give you one right off the bat, then no complaining about service.

Thanks guys, it may be a bad battery, but I've done a master reset, and going to give it a little more time. And yeah, the ones who have gotten their phones today have .516 too, and you can't force it to update.

one word. maybe! there are plenty of threads saying don't use an atk! and this is going to be a lot of peoples first android phone and will cause more problems than it will fix.

Not saying it doesn't work for you....but you might have actually took the time to read what you were doing....when a frustrated user searchs and see atk will fix all your problems, they aren't going to try and find out how to use the program properly,

secondly the x has a battery manager on the phone already and you can tell the phone how/when wifi/3g is being used.

IF YOU ARE NEW TO ANDROID PHONES PLEASE SEARCH ATKs before installing and know what you are doing.

The Verizon sales rep at the verison store said that they HAD to install ATK on every phone before it left the store.

I never had any issues on the EVO, and it DID improve battery life (from 4-6 hours to full day).

Battery life for me is 10x better then my Inc. My Inc would get a HALF a day before having to recharge it. With the X, I got my X at Warlmart yesterday around 11am and Its not at about 50%.

I found that my Nexus one was producing very poor results regarding battery life until I conditioned it, and then after the second or third charge cycle it was lasting much more.

I'm going out on a limb and say the droid x will be the same way.

I honestly haven't been off the charger very much so far, but it seems the battery life is not bad. Then again I only use 3G.

Mine has been ify on battery too. Charge it full last night, took off at 7AM, not it's down to less than 15%. Screen is pulling over 90% of usage almost all day!

Yep, that has been my issue.....the screen was always over 90% of battery usage.

Took off live wallpaper and now screen usage dropped from about 85% to 75%. Phones been locked alot since around noon though because it was draining too fast.

Yea, that definitely may be. Well I switched from the Droid Eye live wallpaper to a regular one and we'll see how it fairs.

My battery life has been weak too. I'm gonna play with it more today to see if I can improve the life.

Same here...it's has been the only major issue for me so far other than an initial problem with Backup Assistant. I went from fully charged to dead in about three hours with fairly minimal usage. It died twice on me last night but since waking and getting to work at 6am today it's at 50% with fairly minimal usage again. I'm going to give it another day or two and if it's still an issue I will be visiting the store to see what options are available.

My battery has been concerning me as well. There have been times where I can't charge it fast enough to keep the battery from draining. I'm trying to do some more testing to see what I can pull off.

I avoid the live wallpapers and while it should only run while the screen is on, its unnecessary eye candy that is a battery eater.

i'm having the same issue as well. so, i've removed all the social networking, & news widgets to see if that helps. anyone try this?
