Pop up ads from "ads.yahoo.com"

For some reason I have recently been getting pop up ads from ads.yahoo.com

I have popup blocker on my broser enabled. I am using chrome on my GN3

The ads say

The page http://ads.yahoo.com says: Download cool apps, games, ringtones, and wallpapers with Mobogenie!

Cancel OK

Any ideas on how I can eliminate this nuisance

Where are you seeing them? On Chrome, or somewhere else?

I am only seeing them on Chrome. (but then again, I have all but abandoned the original browser on my Note 3. So I cant say definitively that it would not happen on that browser as well)

I am not aware of any pop up blocks on mobile browsers. I think that is what would solve this.

It could also be from a game you have installed. Sometimes they like to trick you by placing ads everywhere else but in the game you downloaded.

You could try something like AdBlock Pro (or similar apps) if you can't find the root cause of the pop ups.

I did get a game but I got it through the play store. Doesn't the play store protect me from spam? If i simply uninstalled the game, would that remove the ads as well?

I am using Lookout but even with Lookout active, I still randomly get these ads.

No sorry. It protects you from malware but not ads. It should uninstall the ads. Give it a try.
