Pop-Up Notifications

Where are they? Not sure if this is a Samsung issue or because my phone is unlocked. I cannot get Android notifications to pop up when I am using the device no matter what I try. I am using the 930u on AT&T and I do have Nova installed. Anybody experience the same issues and if so is there a way to fix it? I appreciate the help in advance.

I'd be sooo happy if my phone blocked those (insert all sorts of foul language here) pop ups! Alas, I don't have that issue on mine, but I'm on a T-Mobile version.

I'd make sure you're not running Notifications in Priority Mode, then go to the Notifications settings, tap ADVANCED and check each app to see if the PREVIEWS IN POP-UPS is active.

Other than the pop-up, do you still get notifications?

I tried but still nothing works. I appreciate the information. I just like to set then for emails and texts.

Have you tried running the phone in Safe Mode? I wonder if there's another app that's blocking them. Did you disable the App overlay setting (not sure how to get there 'manually', all I know is that some apps ask for this when being installed) maybe?

You are probably onto something. I have twilight installed. I wonder if that is messing with it.

I have Twilight and my popups work fine except for chompSMS. When I contacted the devs it seems they don't even have an idea how popups work.

Do you have a carrier branded S7 or unlocked? If so, what carrier?

For people with the 930u, are you receiving Pop-Up Notifications? Thanks for everyone's help.

Carrier branded. But not it the US (I'm in Asia). And it's barely edited by the carrier. The only thing I saw them change is the boot animation. Nothing different from unlocked versions here.

Thanks. I am going to wipe the device and start over. If that doesn't work I may just have to get the AT&T version again. Frustrating the way things work in US with our carriers.

I can't figure this out. I am trying my AT&T branded S7 edge now but they don't seem to be working there either. Have other AT&T users had problems?

I don't use any Samsung apps. Any chance they locked Pop-Up to them like they have with the always on display.

That's really weird, especially because you're having the same issue on an unlocked version AND a carrier-branded one. Unfortunately I can't test this out on an AT&T one (mine is T-Mobile), but on mine they do work.

Are they not working for any app or just a specific one? Not sure why (and since I personally don't like them I never bothered figuring out) but on mine I only recall having to turn off pop ups for a few apps, not all.
