Portrait mode selfies not working. Says "find a face" which it never did before. Anybody else having this issue. Noticed it after recent security patch update. S21+ Verizon.

You try clearing cache in recovery? Also can reset the camera app by clearing its data and force stop.

Yes I tried all of that. And the issue persists. I am not the only one. People have posted on the Samsung forums about this issue after the latest update. It has to be a problem with the latest camera update

It's possible, you tried safe mode also ?

Are you able to select Portrait mode in the More menu? What happens when you tap on Portrait mode? I'm guessing nothing.

Portrait mode works fine for the back camera. It's only for portrait mode for the front camera for selfies that there is a problem. Selfies taking in portrait mode just come out to be regular photos with no blur. It also says looking for face and it never says ready once it finds a face. After a reboot it will find the face and the portrait mode works. But like I said after about 20 or 30 minutes the problem resurfaces.

I don't know if this would affect anything, but go ahead and take a selfie in portrait mode, then tap on the new photo to the left of the shutter button, then click on "change background effect" and see what your Blur slide control shows. Maybe it's set at low and the phone uses that setting when taking new selfies? Slide to high blur and try taking another one.

No that is not it. It just does not work. And no the blur effects and other effects do not work after the picture is taken either. My camera version was just updated to 11.0.02.44. It works after I reboot but only for about a half hour. Check your camera version number just to make sure that you have this version. If you don't then you most likely don't have the issue.

I have 11.0.02.44

I spoke with Samsung support and they gave me a solution that so far has worked. I hit the power button and volume down button simultaneously. Let the screen go dark, let go of buttons, and I let the phone reboot. This has fixed the camera problem and one other unrelated issue I was having. So far so good and it has been over two hours

Works properly for me: draws a yellow rectangle around my face, says Ready, and blurs the background. G998U1, AUAJ, 11.0.02.44, 42 hours since reboot.

Yes, after the soft reset described above, working for me also now thankfully. And they really improved the functionality as well!!
